The gpx file contains all the waypoints. Depending on your device, you could have a field that show distance to the next waypoint. That waypoint can ge anything, the top of a climb, for example.

 

All depends what you find useful.

Windmill Casino in Bloem is fully booked - just on a week to go I guess it is what it is....spend the week ticking the pedals over and keeping the legs reminded of how to keep a bicycle moving forward.    This race needs to happen now....its affecting my sleep already  :ph34r:  :blush:

No one said I was still learning how to follow a GPS but I haven't loaded a 5mb 1000KM plus file before. IN the email they sent they made specific mention of the file size being big, along with sending two other files. My Garmin can use either of the 3 thus my question. Other than the benefit of it having the water points marked as a point in the file, why would you use one or the other.

I guess it depends on your unit,

personally I'd be happiest with it broken down into separate legs, and take the most detailed file.
