You still get the oke on a 26" MTB in flat shoes and a gun run T shirt in the $ start after buying someones entry and not subbing it. That poor oke gets passed by about 14000 people on the day.

I don't know if you prefer to a specific incident at the SCT few years back - but in that case there was genuinely a glitch in the Racetec matrix and the poor bugger got seeded in $ (wasn't a substitution). And yes he was passed by about 14,000 people that day.

Nope, the guys I posted were at the Cape Town Cycle Tour a few years ago. I do remember the poor oke at SCT, to be fair to him, he was on a road bike and popped 2 gels before the start of Hellshoogte.

I’m flying down from Durban to race in my first Stellenbosch Cycle Tour and really looking forward to it.

I will be staying with family in Helderberg Village in Somerset West and was wondering if there are any leg loosener rides planned on the Saturday morning in the area?

I'm sure there will be, try get in contact with the Wannabees Cycling Club from that area.

not much hype around this event it seems, just a few days to go, hope the guys didn't pick up too much over the festive season.

not much hype around this event it seems...

You may be saying the same about CTCT in a few weeks.

Events just don't seem to generate the same levels of interest anymore.

Don't you find bikehub more quiet in general? Not sure it's coincidence but seems like it's since they redesigned it. I noticed they even removed the counter in the footer for number of users online.

This is not a Personal attack, just general note... , Can we not drag another thread of topic , no one bothers to read threads if content is never same as topic.

Back on topic. This race will be my first return onto the road bike since July 2018. Got her all serviced and ready in September last year but somehow I always take the MTB out...

Edit: Small milestone, but this was my 100th post

PPA are pretty incompetent. I keep getting adverts to enter this in my Facebook feed and every time the link it to another event. Or maybe they just want me to enter the CTCT MTB event by mistake.

I picked up quite a lot, like 5kgs! If I could just make it over Helshoogte with my bunch, those extra 5kgs will be my friend all the way down to Boschenmeer
