Did well considering he was caught behind marotte when he came off...

2nd row is good enought for a decent result.

Looking forward to it!!!

Yeah I was worried about that and then I saw that he got thirteenth. So he recovered well and has given himself an opportunity to get another decent result out of this week. Like you I'm looking forward to Sunday!

Pfp should get over herself.

Evie beat her fair and square. pfp had enough room

Watch the replay: a line of barriers a few meters down the line was in her way, she could not give Evie more room. Nino's sprint-and-cover Arevalo's front wheel looked a lot more aggressive (great save by  Arevalo/acceptable).

What's the etiquette in cycling: this sort of behaviour okay?

Just pure adrenaline and frustration mixed together. Makes one unreasonable in the heat of the moment. Remember Sam Gaze ????????????

Ceylin is something else, current Elite CX World Champ no less.  Super athlete, tough, clever, and a fighter.

Kata Blanka Vas is Hungarian (National CX champ) and was regular this last CX season, often in the top ten,

Tom ... oh yeah, Expect to see more of him in the future, I hope Ineos will allow him to feature elsewhere than the road.

The CX racers are a tough breed. Evie hit the deck hard and still won. So I wouldn't be surprised if Ceylin also finds the step to elites to be a manageable one for her.

As for Tom Pidcock, I'm very unsure as to how much leeway Ineos will give him. Especially when you consider how little leeway they have given Kwaitkowski imho.

A bunch of A type personalities as well. It usually gets sorted out quickly though. Evie and PFP were talking to each other shortly afterwards, so hopefully it's all good between them.

PFP already made social media post saying all is fine and that Evie would have won even if she had held her line, said she did not have the legs to get around her regardless.

That race was a real chess match, I think pfp thought she could run it start to finish. And almost did.

That last lap was awesome

A few early season observations, cycling fans.

Evie Richards's strategy to dominate the short track is very interesting. How she recovered from that crash in the final lap to still win the race was an incredible comeback. The shorter race suits her 'trackie style' of racing.

Great to see Alan finding his way into the Elite space. He looks organised. He has extraordinary technical skills, now to refine his race craft and keep on believing. It is looking good for the former U23 World Champ. Lekka, lekka, my compatriot.

The compressed calendar is like being a kid in a sweet store with unlimited pocket money, that is for the fan and viewer. It is one helluva rollercoaster of pain, tyre choice and tyre pressure debates, hotel rooms and intensity at many levels. It makes for an interesting performance challenge with the shorter turnaround time in scheduling, especially for the older riders who may struggle more with recovery, niggles, etc.

I really think the UCI should look at a greater reward / recognition system for the overall winner, hey.

4 races, 4 debutants take the win. That is incredulous and so good for the sport. There is a surplus of confidence and audacity with the new generation of racers. The revised calendar and various forms of lock down preparation phases for the season is shaking up the status quo.

A key question is whether El Nîno is able to retain the rainbow or are his superpowers fading?

What is the neon green sricker or plug visible on some of the bikes?

First saw it on the Treks but notice now more team bike frames on the front end, were most cables will enter the frame.
