Coronavirus lockdown and exercising outdoors

Live close next to a golf course. Clearly mowing it is seen as essential service or agriculture, and saw a guy golfing on his own this afternoon.

Maybe he is the manager who lives on the property? I'm stuck with 24 laps for the mzansi marathon and a dumb trainer, so properly jealous!

I would kill for a dumb trainer right now.

Dumb trainer, old Cyclops read wheel power meter and GCN on YouTube.

Can train body properly but more importantly, train the mind as there is nothing fun or distracting.

Did my longest run ever on the treadmill. Absolute torture. Binge watching The walking dead helps pass the time a little faster.

A friend of mine ran 50km on her treadmill yesterday... My mind boggles!

My goodness! That's amazing composure, well done.

I think a 10k would be my limit on our treadmill.

Good a time as ever to try it I suppose.

It boggles my mind. I just can't. My legs start feeling disjointed and I start flopping my feet around like goofy.

Might be different if I could get a smart one and zwift though..... But probably not.

One year my brother in law did all his comrades training on a treadmill

You just need a distraction to keep your mind off the boredom.

We did not have Netflix in those days, so she watched dvd’s on a small portable DVD player while wearing head phones.

I once did 6 hrs on my IDT, also in winter.... the biggest issue was the amount of sweat, I was changing sweat soaked shorts and tops every hour

I must say it gets better when you go past 10ks. Maybe the mind just goes numb.

I don't think I could even do 2 hours on an IDT.

When I was still taking this sport a little more seriously. I would often do 4 x 2hour sessions per week on a Wattbike. My “longest” ride ever was 600km in 24 hours on Wattbike. I tried to do it again, but after 9 hours I was too bored, the novelty had worn off.

You will be amazed. Just did a group ride with 3 of my mates on Zwift. Racing up climbs, competing for sprints. Only a 80 minute ride but the time flew by, was never bored.
