Oh please stop with your drama and fear mongering . To late for that chom. It’s been 3 months of covid and the sun still comes up in the morning. The game is up . People are done with chicken little attitudes . If you really are so scared Of Mr Covid then by all means lock yourself up for as long as you want . But please just leave the rest of us alone to live our lives how we see fit. Ok ! No more control on what i must wear when I can move what i can eat .Etc etc Enough !!!

No one said you can not get on with your life.

No one said that you can not live your live as you see fit.

The only thing they ask is that you protect others should you have the virus. Is that fear mongering?

If you come into my business and I ask you wear a mask and sanitize your hands, that is too much for you?

i don't think that is realistic, and the types of masks people are wearing dont protect from what you describe in any event.  This really is a chicken licken scenario which is silly.  It seems that the whole argument is based on some sort of sheep-mentality moral high ground, but is not grounded in reality or PROBABILITY.  There are risks all around us every day.  The mere possibility of something occurring now demands a response, according to your logic.  People can't live like this - its not sustainable

Ok, droplets are stopped by cloth masks. Don't tell me they aren't otherwise why would my mask condense and get moist? The virus is transported in said droplets, not in it's microscopic form floating through barriers at will. THAT theory has been depunked.

Also, one does not drive recklessly on purpose unless one has absolutely no regard for those around them. Which, shock horror, makes you liable if you cause an accident.

You're flouting the rules and the guidelines on purpose, calling other people 'sheeple' and base your argument on other 'sheep mentality' social media information that has been debunked?

Karenception!

Anyway, like I said, even if you don't believe in the theory, wearing a mask is respectful to others. Again, nothing I say will change your mind. I'm sorry I engaged you.

I hope you don't kill anyone or destroy someones family when it could have been prevented by just following the rules. Living with that is really difficult.

No... If my wife is hit by a driver, I will try to prosecute that driver to spend the rest of his life in jail.

The same should be done for people purposefully flouting the rules. If you go to visit your gran while you have flu, you should also be held accountable.

People die, it's part of life. But being able to potentially NOT spread death is not the same as saying 'people die'.. Anyway, I'm out.

You do you. If you feel you are entitled to put other people at risk purposefully and don't see the issue then nothing I, or anyone says, is going to change you lack of respect for others.

Hopefully you don't get the virus and kill your mother

well that escalated quickly

Do you not get it.

The mask reduces the amount of viruses you could be spreading. No mask if you are infected means you are spreading it. Mask = drastically reduces

Spend 5 minutes and do some research.

it is not like they are asking your to donate a kidney.

It is actually in the legislature... A family in Durban are being charged by the state for willful endangerment and attempted murder for failing to self isolate, wear masks and follow guidelines while waiting for, what turned out to be a positive, test result.

So you see, it isn't just a case of 'I do what I want'... There are consequences and while I wish you would follow the guidelines, if you choose not to I hope you aren't party to causing further spread.

Your decision, but make no mistake, the ARE consequences when those decisions go against the rules.

I get being angry at the situation, I get thinking the rules are dumb, I get the frustration and I get the need to lash out. But some rules show your character and in inane respect for others. This is one of them.

I think we all wish it was that scenario but I've got some bad news for you.

To be clear, I don't consider coronavirus to be a chickenlikken scenario - quite the contrary, I acknowledge its seriousness.

I merely take issue with the blanket approach to things, such as mask wearing where my decision to not wear it has no effect on people.   Riding alone is one such scenario, but some commentators want to dress this up in a "what if this, what if that" end of the world apocalypse.  THIS is what I was calling the chickenlikken scenario.  Context is key, and I happily wear masks when around people in  shops etc.

I'm not spreading the virus if there are no people to spread it to.  How is that not obvious?

Using this example, remove the 2nd person.  Now pee with pant on, pee with no pants on, hey, there is nobody to get pee on.  This is what riding alone with no mask is like.  I can explain it for you all, but I can't understand it for you

No worries, I was just making a joke. To me Chicken licken is a place where you get dodgy takeaway, so I thought it was a typo. I see it is the lesser used version of Chicken Little too though. Depends on where you got your kids books.
