Had a ton of work to catch up so no photo shoot - promise to show it off properly in the morning - very happy with the build but some mismatching I’ll have to sort out

My LBS in George really put effort in even though it’s not a Spez

Please let me know their name - I am down in December and want to ship the bikes down

So here it finally is.  A custom Cannondale Scalpel SE.  It wasn't my first choice but after being unusually sensible it's what I need  - exotic for the sake of being different doesn't work if it's the wrong bike

I was thinking about it after seeing the SE online but it's not coming here.  Sent a mail to Cannondale SA and Lionel their brand manager called me right back.  The guy really wen't the extra mile to make this happen and for no good reason other than the build interested him and having one more mamil on his brand was important.

With pedals, cages, sealant and tools being a multi tool, 1 bomb and a dynaplug, 9.75 and it's a large

120/120

I couldn't use the cranks I wanted and some of my parts are a mismatch by my OCD standards which will eventually be sorted. The branding is huge which hopefully I can live with given the service from Cannondale

How does she/he ride?

First local ride review for Scalpel SE coming up.

Looks beautiful, my OCD can handle the color mismatch.

It was a pleasure spending your money and fulfilling my ultimate dream bike build.

My bike broker/consultant invoice, Brother Bike Co, is on its way.

Enjoy your bike.

Very Flipping nice Wayne. I think this is the perfect bike for you. And just the updated geo alone will make this bike a treat on singletracks. Just get a kashima coated Dropper post to match your shock and fork(get a cheepie and trial it for 2 months) it will transform your ride and give you instant added confidence on the technical stuff.

Just because you cheeped out on some of the finishing touches, some more to make this truly awesome, don't be cutting any corners bru, theres 15 of us watching you. (Sorry these pics are massive, don't know how to get them smaller)

Oh and about those blue brakes...mm..

Let me start with the brakes - if you want a set of Piccolos from trickstuff, its a 6 month waiting list (I've seen it at 18) so when I was offered blue in 5 months, I took 2 sets.

Stem cap is already trickstuff and obviously I was forced to go blue

Finally, the chainring, Hope one day might get to Garbaruk level but its not there yet by a longshot - again, forced to go blue because of the brakes.  www.garbaruk.com  Think XX1 in 8 colours but lighter

I did have blue cranks but they didn't fit the Cannondale standard.

As for a dropper, baby steps, hope to get to a point where I need one

I think changing the fox decals will go a long way to sorting the array of colours and bringing balance to the force

Plus a blue derailleur cage is also on the way

The fox logo ties in with your orange hubs and stanchions with the cannondale decal.

The colours look good together

The blue bits on the fork and shock work with your blue parts

i also think the blue and red is fine. the brakes are gonna stay blue obviously. the blue and red accents tie in with the adjusting knobs on the shock and fork imo...those are also always gonna be that colour. I think the fork can do with either a copper decal set to match the frame or if you think the copper is the colour messing it all up....a murdered out matt black one for the fork and frame.

blue/red hubs look crap imo.

also...Doesn't the new axs come in copper colour?
