Report is that Kruijswijk has a dislocated shoulder.

He no doctor but one commentator recons that the dislocated shoulder will rule him out of Le Tour, what a pity if that is the case

Yeah happened before coverage started.

Following along on CN's text commentary. May switch over to Tiz Cycling to watch the last. It sounds like it has been a pretty hectic stage partly due to the crashes but also the pace that's being raced at.

M.O.

Wrap up summit finish in France.

Then straight south to Lombardi.

Better to post the table to show it in context.

He didn't sprint to the line with everyone else, allowing a gap of 1s or more after Porte which puts him 9s behind the bunch.

Apparently that descent where everyone crashed was ridiculous according to TommyD with gravel and pot holes all over the place:
https://www.cyclingweekly.com/news/racing/its-a-disgrace-that-descent-was-in-a-race-says-tom-dumoulin-after-kruijswijk-crashes-out-of-dauphine-463251

I wonder if Ineos knew it was a dog show and pulled Bernal from the race to protect him for the Tour? If you consider all the ridiculous marginal gain stuff they do to try win the TdF, strategically pulling Bernal to prevent the risk of a crash seems almost characteristic.  They definitely had a better tour prep day today than Jumbo who probably lost a key super-domestique/leader in Kruijswijk and their main GC leader had a major crash and almost abandoned.

Thomas finished 16 minutes back today, and Froome 26 minutes back in the last bunch. It's hard to believe that their form is that bad compared to the other GC guys. It's almost like they do their predetermined effort for the day and then just coast in like they're on a recovery ride without worrying too much about the race going on, even before today. Froome was "dropped" from the GC bunch at 46.8km to go today, but he didn't crack or seem like he was trying to keep up and couldn't. He had a musette on his back and was having a chat to Impey like they were on a coffee ride and basically just let the bunch go. I reckon we're gonna see a very different looking Ineos in a few weeks when they're actually trying to win the race and not using the race everyday as a training ride.

Hoping Nairoman can get a stage win today. Will likely have to join the break. Final climb not steep enough for him to dance away, but he could get away on the Cote de Cordon just before and create a time cushion.

LM is sandbagging like Ineos

Really hope so.

He is Saffa and we need to support him!

Not sure what has happened the last two years and those in the know do not share.

My point of view:

Ride with intent if you protected, domestique or hunting for stage wins.

If he is a protected rider, sit up in the peloton, show a collective strength.

Team mates around him and pay back for their support by showing your team colours in the finish.

If he is a domestique ride like that, support your team leaders, pull at the front for your whole worth and sit up after job done, once again showing your team colours.

If he is in the hunt for stage wins in a breakaway, be in the front not at the back...

As a result of his crash yesterday, Primoz Roglic - leader in the GC and points classification - won’t start in the ultimate stage today. The evolution of his injuries will determine the plans for the upcoming races. Speedy recovery, @rogla [emoji1696] https://t.co/xvam2hlX69
