It's off for now. There are updates still in progress in the background.

The mobile site should be far more useable compared to the old one.

I tried uploading an image, in the Where has you bike taken you, from the browser (Win10, Chrome) and won’t allow it.

I tried now using my phone, and it allowed the edit. As a result, I like the ability to add a reason; hope that is mandatory ????

It works for for me; only one click/touch (iPhone11).

I tried using the search function, and it’s not returning anything for specific words I know exist.

it seems to be working for recent posts, so is it safe to assume that it needs to index old posts?

Yes, correct. There is a lot of indexing currently happening in the background.
