Funny thing where WvA and GvA will be riding for Belgium, but they will be doing so on different machines. WvA on his Cervelo and GvA on his BMC.

Wonder how the trade team dynamics will influence the racing.

All the riders ride their own team bikes though, Like with SA Nic is on his BMC, Stefan on his Willier and Gibbo on his Colnago.

"New Zealand" on that list nudged a memory of mine.

Whatever happened to Sam Gaze? He was on-the-up, winning the Argus a couple of years back... should have been the start of big things for him. ????‍♂️

I cant remember seeing much of him after this incident at the Commonwealth Games

Opinion: Spare a thought for Sam Gaze - NZ Herald

Looks like his progression is backwards of late:

2019 Deceuninck–Quick-Step (road; stagiaire)
2020 Alpecin–Fenix[2]
2021– Alpecin–Fenix Development Team

I mean you'd expect it to be going the other way...

I don't really subscribe to the theory that people from northern europe won't be competetive in the heat/humidity as they are professionals and train accordingly, the list of people coming from a cold european winter and smashing our locals in the march heat of the cape epic is a very very long. but anyway

hot guys in the mens mtb. - that's hatherley, avancini and some frenchies

That's relative. Besides, I dunno what any of these blokes look like.

For the women, Coryn Rivera does it for me.

Europe has a few a hot and humid locations in Summer. Its not that big a deal for these athletes as they will also train in a sauna in winter

Correct and they have a spare that will be loaded on the car. Team mecchie has been a busy bee getting their bikes set up for the weekend. Strained his thumb moving luggage around but I'm available to fly at a moments notice should a new pair of thumbs be needed
