BUT it is on the road to becoming so much more than it has been in the past. With the coverage it is receiving now, I'd be surprised if it doesn't generate more $$ and publicity going forward.

Would love to see the stalwarts of today (people like AMP and AVV) nurturing the superstars of tomorrow not only on the bike, but also with navigating challenges of work/life balance, contract/salary negotiations ... which us women tend to sell ourselves a bit short on at times.

Knowing only a bit about AMP, I went looking for more background info, and came across this brilliant Podcast that explained her history, up to current; she speaks very confidently indeed, and it makes for a great ‘listen’:

I'm listening to ASHLEIGH MOOLMAN-PASIO | Breaking New Ground in Cycling https://podtail.com/podcast/castelli-podcast/ashleigh-moolman-pasio-breaking-new-ground-in-cycl/

AMP does a fair bit through her Rocacorba Cycling, there's also the Cyclists Alliance and partners.

"I am excited to come back. To suffer on the bike again and to race with the team again. I realise now how much I love the game, the sport and the competition."

Kim's jersey had me proper puzzled yesterday while watching the TDFF. I was wondering who the heck was wearing the WC jersey in AG kit. Wild nonsensical theories were swirling in my head for some time. Thankfully, my ignorance was spared when they said Mauritian champ on the commentary.

I'm surprised there aren't more (any) posts about the TDF Femmes. It's serving up some proper entertainment in the form of racing and controversy.

- DSM winning the opening stage AGAIN.

- Some new standout names - Loes Adegeest with a stunning ITT and Puck Pieterse winning a 3-up sprint against Vollering and Niewiadoma, scooping the polka dot and white jersey at the same time.

- But yesterday took the cake with the Yellow jersey crashing out badly, yet none of her teammates waited/paced her back to the lead group. In fact, her teammates went on to sprint for the win and 8th place.

- Yellow jersey is now on shoulders of Kasia but with the high mountain stages coming, it will be fascinating to see how SD Worx pick up the pieces and whether there will be a few more unexpected twists.

The cohesion and depth are there for Canyon SRAM but is it enough to hold off the strongest female GC contender of this era?
