Super wide shoulder and you guys still plonking in the road. Bad form.

Valid point, but sometimes if you see the whole picture it paints a different scene.

A couple snaps from my casual cruise this morning.

75.7km, with 1244m of climbing at a not too bad 23,5km/h.

Midrand - Lonehill - Fourways - Randburg - Sandton - Rivonia - Sunninghill - Kyalami - Midrand

Crocodile farm out near Northern Farms:

Breakfast stop at the McCafe on the corner of Grayston and Rivonia Road (that muffin was especially good)

Last ride of 2015. Commute to work on the 30th, past Josephine Mill in Newlands. It is a water driven mill and still functioning. You can buy old style stone ground bread flour there to bake health bread. If you use the water from the Newland spring around the corner, it is even healthier. Best, of course, is to bake it with the beer you brewed using the spring water.

Hello Twenty SSixteen at VG yesterday morning...

Planned a chilled cruise along the river and surrounds then something took over my common sense and I did  half the donga in "reverse" , Concrete road, DaggaPad... then sadly missed Tant Miems when I saw about 5 baboons cross the trail about 30/40 m ahead, my common sense kicked backed in and I doubled back to skip the Tannie  ...

Other than being a naff and scared of baboons... the ride was awesome!

First ride of 2016. From home in the Southern Suburbs to Melkbos and back. Woodbridge island lagoon was full of flamingos this morning. I always wonder at how such ungainly long legged, long necked, broom like things can fly, and fly well enough to migrate to East Africa and back.

L.T.G, you need to give the rest of us photography lessons, I'm sure I'm not the only one who hates you for how much better your photos look than mine haha :P

Thanks Lurch  ..appreciate the compliment

Pleasure.

On a 'serious' note, what are you taking your pictures with?

I am taking mine with my iPhone, and I must be honest, it's a lot of 'point and hope like hell the picture comes out ok' because half the time the sun is either behind me or in my eyes so I can't really see the screen properly.

All iPhone.

for the last month, it's been a 6S, but before that was a 5 for about 3 years.

I'm pretty much the same, I see something or have an idea for a pic and try my best to get it photographed as I'm seeing it.

With these, I was trying to get the gradient of Concrete Road captured, but couldn't.. then while messing around I was lucky to have the sky looking as awesome as it was, so that became my focus.

I use the Camera+ app to tweak them. Some people seem hell bent on professing to the world their pics are #nofilter'ed... I couldn't be effed...

I point, shoot, tweak.

There's often lots of squatting and lying in suggestive positions to get these pics :whistling:

I'm going to check out that app now, as well as some suggestive poses I can use to get better angles. :P

Mine are all unedited, except for resizing them so I can upload.

hahaa we need someone taking pics of you in said positions.

what gets me is how your bike balances so perfectly with just a little rock under the wheel. The number of times my bike has fallen over while trying to position it for a shot :(
