Only interesting part of Sona

After watching a little bit of it on TV, I told my kids to rather switch to a violent porn movie. ;)

Majik : Bloemendal : Hillcrest : Bloemslang (crash)

Distance: 14.74km

Elev Gain: 498m

Avg Speed: 15kph

Calories: 587 C

Lovely morning, quite warm early already. Everything went smoothly until I approached Bloemslang... Things did not go according to plan. Was going down from the start at about 30kph and the first jump going into the woods I wiped out. The impact of the landing popped my front tyre completely off the rim and resulting in a wipeout. Lucky no major injuries, just a few bruises, but my left elbow is quite sore. Called my dad to pick me up at Bloemendal Restaurant. Thank goodness I crashed early going down otherwise, I would have to walk the whole section.

So, it's one day shy of 3 months since I had my crash, and I thought I had recovered enough to go for a ride.

With great anticipation, I washed my bike last night, as the poor thing had a serious layer of dust on...

Made my way out to Bidon after dropping the kids off. The plan was to meet Mrs RocknRolla along the way, as she rode from home earlier.

I set off, nervously. After months on the trainer, it feels kinda weird when the bike seem to have a mind of its own. Got used to it quickly, because it's apparently like riding a bicycle.

Hit the road from Bidon to beyers, met the missus there, turned around and rode to the caves T-junction. Turned around and after desperately trying to hold the wheel of the machine that is my wife, I turned back to Bidon, just before the Rhino and Lion park. My wrist took quite a bit of strain at this stage, so I decided to call it a day.

Fitness wise, I cannot believe what the trainer has done in the last 3 weeks. I am truly amazed.

Tomorrow, probably the same, will see if I can mybe do two hours, depending how the wrist feels in the morning.

It really did feel great to be part of the outside cycling world, much as zwift is awesome, it does not compare to the wind, sun and smells of the real world.

Welcome back on the bike. I'm very impressed with your choice of bike for your comeback. Extremely stylish!

Thanks, it's an awesome machine.

I really enjoy each and every ride on that bike.

I am pretty sure I saw you okes waiting at the end of the Bloemslang near Bloemendal Restaurant.

A white Toyota Hilux V6 picked me up.

Well, to be honest, not quite sure. Went down Bloemslang, approached the first jump into the wood section and when I landed my front tyre went of the rim. I then found myself on the ground.

So really not sure what happened. Did took my bike in for a basic service afterwards. No damages, very glad to hear and I really thought it could have been my rebound speed or my fork air pressure. Also, I was riding on a lower PSI upfront (not sure how much, did the old hand tester). So yeah, freak accident.
