This will surprise you. It actually climbed well but was a complete dog on the downs. Opposite of you would expect. Except on super smooth single track  Then it was ok.

What Make is it ? Seems like you rode It !

Chamois Hagar – Evil Bikes USA

If they put these wagon wheels on a small fame, they would:
A. Be silly
B. Have to do all sorts of bendy things with the tubes to get reasonable stand over height

Top Fuel 9.9 XTR - Trek Bikes (GB)

Actually yes, I would buy this Evil. It looks like it will be somewhat more stable on a loose, rutted gravel descent than the first sample you posted. I'm not sure about the comfort factor on a long ride being crouched over because of the reach on that layout, but you could potentially tweak the dropper post to find the sweet spot.

As for that size S Trek, that just looks so cramped I'd be surprised if the poor people relegated to that frame won't be falling more often than anyone riding size M and up.

The Evil was the worst gravel bike I’ve ever ridden on fast rough descents. Nothing comes close in terms of bone jarring ride feel. The designer really had no idea what he was doing. He’s an excellent MTb designer and has made some great frames but this one was a flop. Pity because they are great guys with a great brand.

I think that MOOTS looks dope as balls, that being said, I think all of their bikes are gorgeous and I am hook line and sinker bought into the gravel bike "hype".

More to the point, another wheel size is just another specialisation that makes an ideal bike for some niche riding segment or the direction riding is developing.

In the same way people rode downhill on rigid 2" tyred mountain bikes 25 years ago doesn't mean that; A that was the ideal/fastest design for that course even at that time and B that downhill courses are the same now as they were then.

Bring on more bikes, different bikes, more options to choose from to buy or build something that suits what fits you and what you want to ride perfectly.

I don't have a horse in this race and believe most developments the past 20 yrs have been relevant and the good ones stuck (I am enjoying most of them on my rides), however any industry tries to make money by inventing a way to stay ahead.
