Honestly feel so disappointed with the Bike Hub community.

Why would we not be completely behind any people wanting to represent our country.

I am sure if you where to ask any of our successful rider how much help CSA was they would laugh .

Minaar.Beers .Hathely. Lil. Meintjies. Gibbons. Impy.Stander ...

Sure they struggled. Give everyone a chance .Full every position possible and give us a chance at growth .

It will cost you nothing but a little pride .

Do it.

Agreed.  I do think sense will prevail and more riders will go.

With 6 slots available, and we don’t take them, does that mean we potentially will be offered 3 in 2025?

depends on how many UCI points our riders amass and where RSA stands in the rankings. If Greg retires then its up to the current riders wanting to go to World Champs on his points to go and earn those points for themselves next year.

I'd love to see the arguments next year....

This is a puzzle to me as well, particularly if all CSA has to do is tick the box; no money from them and pretty much no support as I see it. It is all "self funded", well, privately funded. Same for the much more popular XCO; if you have the slots and it is self funded, go for it. Who are CSA to be gatekeepers; out of touch ones when related to DH it seems?

Maybe Theo caught a nerve with someone on CSA board a few years back when he was a younger hooligan. They would basically ridicule the lycra tigers trying to navigate the most basic features on XCO and Epic stages haha. He would watch them crawl down, then proceed to huck whole sections without even touching the ground😅

I see the italics there! Don't think that's really the case at all as he has been selected plenty of times since this.

Cant remember seeing GM standing at the bottom at the end of a 142nd place run for Theo laughing at him during a WC.

Do you mind elaborating on what happened? I am not familiar with the story.

The results for Rory, Stefan and Theo this year.

All did some of the UCI events, non managed to make it past the qualifying round

Question -

How many riders take part on a typical UCI event, and how many qualify ?

* Disclaimer This is how it was a few years ago might have changed a bit since.

You have to have a certain number of UCI points to be able to just enter. Those are collected by racing domestic series races and the IXS cups which are in Europe. The IXS races are properly packed. There are hundreds of fast guys trying to make a go of it via the IXS races. There's also an IXS rookies cup but I'm unsure if those count towards anything

As an example around 180 elites entered for the Les Gets world cup

60 riders make it through from timed qualifying into the "semi finals" and 30 make it from there into the big show.

There's also a rather large safety barrier to entry. If you think being able to send the main line at Conties qualifies you to safely ride a world cup track you are GRAVELY mistaken. World cup tracks are long and steep and the jumps are MUCH bigger and scarier than they look on TV.
