  1. It might be time. I don't watch the Barclays Premier League so not that thrilled to be funding the R6 billion rand expense so I can watch some rugby and cricket when you can get the soccer channels cheap cheap on DSTV Compact.
  2. Hence my question about the 'stories'. If these stories and glances are so rock solid that you treat them as hard evidence why could you or ZK or someone else not put the dopers away?
  3. So we have all these stories, the 'chemical brothers' name being common knowledge and so many people gatvol of doping who know these stories. Why do we then need to wait for SAIDS and biological passport to catch the guys when there are people who feel strongly against it who have the info?
  4. It's just a dangerous precedent if we can go around saying so and so quacks like a ..... You too would want the law and the burden of proof to protect you if someone calls you a (enter disgusting criminal activity here) on social media and that is what happened at the time. But I don't want to detract any more from the true topic which is doping.
  5. Did you have any proof at that stage when you made the accusations?
  6. Really enjoyed this one http://d4rri9bdfuube.cloudfront.net/assets/images/book/large/9781/4447/9781444775815.jpg
  7. I've also been considering this. On long stretches with a headwind I don't hear cars coming at all and only see them when they pass. But even if the Varia shows me that they are approaching I still won't have eyes in the back of my head to know if they are alert and aware of my presence as supposed to talking on the phone.
  8. I will concede. The market for this exact bike is probably your more adventurous type rather than a coach potato. If somebody buys one of these bikes and goes to your trails and has an absolute blast of a time what is it to you? This is not a motorbike. It's ~5kg heavier than a standard bike and has 0.5kW of power so there is no reason it can't be used everywhere a normal trail bike is used. I get that it doesn't appeal to you but there is fun to be had by somebody else and that is a good thing. Take the enjoyment of trails and disconnect it from the essence of cycling and perhaps there is room for something else there for somebody else.
  9. Good point. If you ever rant about other people not matching your SKILLS this is the bike for you. Those wannabee cyclist who are stealing your trail cred from all your admirers will be left behind so you can just focus on being awesome instead of begrudging someone else some fresh air and fun.
  10. It's better than sitting in front of the tv. Maybe it's a place to start where it previously seemed hopeless? Pedal 10% today and 20% next month. The larger cycling demographic is more than just the South African racing snakes.
  11. I had a quick look at the battery specs of the existing Spez Turbo bikes. 500Wh is more than I would have thought. You would be able to do an entire 2h ride without pedaling unless I'm missing something.
  12. At a second glance the geometry does look a bit serious for a casual day's cruising. Still if someone wants to enjoy the forest etc they have my blessing. If someone plans to shred the local trails they shouldn't use this.
  13. There are many usage scenarios that make sense. First example would be spending time with your girlfriend / wife / dad enjoying the countryside / trails. You get to pedal hard enough to get the training stimulus while also sharing the time and experience with somebody you wouldn't otherwise be able to.
  14. Difficult to remove makes them a non starter for me. Why battle with that when one can buy a lock-on grip?
  15. The drifta resolution is 320 x 240, I don't think it will be acceptable.
  16. I almost smashed my screen.
  17. You have a strong life saving IT background and you use your work email for a childish taunt. You do this because it is linked to your banking details for a deal where there was never going to be money changing hands. Given the critical security level and highly specialized nature of your job I hope you just had an off day.
  18. I worked on the northern border of Mexico in a town called Reynosa for a while and anybody who thinks you can stop violence by bringing (bigger) weapons to the game should go there. The army patrols the streets in armoured vehicles with machine guns constantly scanning. It doesn't stop the drug cartels, they just carry rocket launchers. You cannot stop violence with violence and you will not stop bike theft by carrying a gun, you will just be the reason another cyclist gets gunned down as the game becomes more violent.
  19. You forgot Don't have time to train, try these quick 3 hour workouts
  20. She must save a little longer and get a powerbeam pro for ~R10 800. R7 500 is not hitting any value for money sweet spot.
  21. Can't really blame Spez. Epic Comp is more than enough for 90% of riders but SA people love operating high up the scale of diminishing returns for some reason.
  22. You can also buy it ready made: both 9/100mm versions and 10/135mm versions. My 2013 Epic came with this in the front. http://www.dtswiss.com/Components/RWS/RWS-Thru-bolt-en I then bought the hope pro 2 9mm end caps from CRC for my new wheels to keep that skewer.
  23. It will work fine. The 142mm spacing is the same. A normal 142mm hub uses the same flange spacing as a 135mm hub with the 7mm being added to the part outside the flanges. The 142+ makes use of the opportunity to make the actual flanges wider. So a 142+ might not fit on any frame but a 142 will fit on a 142+ frame.
  24. No it's designed for 135mm dropouts. I don't even think 120mm dropouts will work which is a shame because for ergo workouts a single speed would be perfect.
  25. Can't agree more with your user experience. My profile is summomtber, haven't been very active yet but entered Karoo2Coast this week and the training starts now.
