It's the biggest timed race in the world how can you not be excitedIts a weird thing cos no matter how much I tell myself that its just another sunday morning peninsula loop and the training is just a stepping stone for the 100 milers and granfondo that's coming.... i cant help being excited for the ctct.

My wife entered online Friday and secured herself an entrySo, things changed and I might be able to come down to do the CTCT, but I have no official entry. I understand the official substitution process closed on Monday, but does anybody know whether there is any chance of a last minute substitution process at registration?

I was there Saturday and it was confusing definitely a high risk zoneThe only issue I foresee is that complete cock-up when getting to the turn-off to Chappies at Sun Valley. The road works on Saturday left no impression in my mind that that stretch of road is going to be anywhere near finished come race day.
I foresee some big crashes there if that be the case.

I was a bit upset because on the 99er they said the 57km is not a seeding event so I cruised with my wifeIf you did the Sportif race last week or the Tour de PPA this weekend - yes
Then someone I know done his 1st race entered the 57km and starts 3 groups ahead of me and 2 hours earlier
Why is this seeding business such a confusing thing ?

Has this being confirmed?Not sure on your situation but entries appear to still be open which might be an easier/ cheaper route.

She made it 70% and then walked but she finished the race and that's all that mattersSo, how did she do?

Hi thereDon't get off the bike - keep on going.
There was this one hot year when they just tared the road and I just switched my road bike to 1x8... dang... that was rough. But you just have to keep on going and don't get off to push.
I'll be missing this year, if they introduce a new / interesting route I'll give it a go again (like last year).
