Thanks for this link. Tried it this morning. Started with 70g/h and chucked all the sugar for an hour and half effort into my bidon. Added one hydration tablet for some salt and flavour. Tasted pretty good and worked well. No stomach issues and did not feel hungry at all afterwards. Definitely taking this method further!

  2. And I understand that not everyone needs to drive a Ferrari. But surely as the prices of these "superbkes" increase, the price increases trickle down all the way down to the lower models. A few years ago a mid/top end frame with a top end groupset was more within my reach financially. Thesedays not anymore. Just my opinion of someone cycling for the last 20 years though.

    Real sad bout stages though.

  3. Even in Europe the gravel bikes are becoming more popular. Definitely my next bike.

Much more versatile than road bikes, especially on cobbles and steep climbs. As mentioned, the line between aero/road/gravel is getting blurred even more, so with different tires/wheelsets you can cover almost all terrain with one bike.

  4. Tomorrow RVV is going to be great! Was fortunate to ride the We Ride Flanders. The weather was wet and cold and riding those wet, slippery cobbles gave me new respect for the speed the pros do on that terrain! Mind blowing. Atmosphere at Patterberg and Oude kwaremont was electric.

Barring a mechanical or crash, I can’t see anyone capable of beating MvdP, not even Lidl-Trek. It would’ve been a  different discussion had the crash on Wednesday not happened.

I think Trek Lidl will be all guns blazing for Mads Pederson. He will be the biggest threat for MvdP

  6. As mentioned, fit the helmet to see if it pairs well with your head. Fit it with your glasses. I find it annoying if my glasses are touching/hitting my helmet. Also check if the helmet retention buckle at the back/sides interfere with your sunglass arms. I prefer a proper forehead pad inside the helmet, as it keeps more sweat out of eyes. Helmet needs good ventilation to reduce amount of sweat into eyes.
