  1. Hi Piet, I have a set of shifters available. Will have a look tonight if its 8 speed and if they are useable I will send photos then you can decide. I think its 9 speed but will confirm
  2. Thanks Eddy We are thinking some time during Oct/Nov. Will be in touch when finalised
  3. We are planning to do a 5/6 day unsupported tour in that area in the near future. Can anybody assist with some recommendations on routes, GPS routes, accommodation etc as we don't know that part of the world at all. We would like to start at a central point and cycle a circular or out and back route back to our starting point.
  4. As I said a Great Initiative. Why don't they do it on a regular basis and only now a few days before election. Time to wake up and see our politicians for what they really are.
  5. Got an entry for the 13th available- four man team that I don't want to waste. Talk to me
  6. A great initiative but their timing spells only one thing - Election time so let's buy some votes. just to add - most probably using taxpayers money to fund buying votes
  7. It seems that most guys are using Cycleops Virtual training. That is also the platform for the weekly Tuesday Virtual race. I personally enjoy CVT more that Zwift
  8. Very happy with my Stages. PM's became a hit and lots of people invested in expensive technology. BUT - if you don't use it properly and with some knowledge about power training it became just an expensive gadget with no benefit. I personally think most of the PM's for sale is from this category.
  9. What took the longest was to put the Bushido together. If I remember about 1/2 an hour. To connect to computer is easy and quick. Plug in the Ant adapter, included in Tact Bushido package and pair the computer and trainer. Less than 15 minutes It really is that simple. What took the longest was to download the software. I tried it with CVT, Zwift and Tacx software. Worked fine
  10. I also promised myself never a Tacx again. Lightning struck our house and both my trainers were toast. Insurers insist to replace with the same as what I had so was forced to go Tacx again. Got the Bushido and use it with Cycleops Virtual Trainer software. What a pleasure - no issues what so ever for the last six months. Tacx Software - stay away if you don't want to get totally frustrated.
  11. I have the same setup with two Bushido's for me and my better half. Works absolutely perfect. Even when we ride together on the same route or workout we use real partners and its perfect. Battled originally with the brake as it seems to be too tight but it was just a matter of my legs actually much weaker that I thought.
  12. penalties due to Astana riders in team
  13. Just registered. Not close to the same league as you guys but will give it a go. Lets get a "C" bunch going
  14. I might have a 4 man team entry available for the 13th. Will know finally by this weekend. Please pm me your details and I will let you know ASAP
  15. I have a Chinarello Dogma Think 65.1 frame that has been used for a while with absolute no issues. Its a size 54 but the model before the F8. If anybody interested let me know
  16. If you look at the pictures directly after the stage with the "blood" coming through his shirt no doubt that his injuries are serious. I doubt if he will finish this tour. Such a pity
  17. Have a chat to Marz Cycles. He has some awesome deals on Bianchi / Giant/ Merida frames and can built to your specs. See his adverts in Classifieds
  18. What is the best way to determine if a small crack that is visible at the junction of the top tube and seat tube is purely cosmic (just in paint) or a serious problem starting to develop. Its been visible for the last four months and about 2 mm long. Does not increase in size or show movement if pressure is applied from the side. Any ideas will help. I will post a picture tomorrow.
  19. We were in the "comrades" starting group and did not know what the delay was all about, no announcement from organisers at all. When we eventually heard about the crash it was already 45 minutes after our original starting time - so it must have been fairly serious. Wishing him a speedy recovery
  20. Would like to echo the comments on this excellent race. Must be the best one day event and always a great atmosphere. Even great weather this year. The starts at all the stages this year was a bit chaotic and unorganized. I think this had to do with the CSA racing license issue, so only racing licensed cyclist could start in the various categories the rest of us all dumped in comrades. If this process can be smoothed and sorted all will be 100% - see you next year
  21. " now if that is a decision that Shimano / coolheat has made to only supply physical brick and mortar shops and not to supply online retailers.... that would boggle my mind, again not sure if its the case or not. But no surprises with grey imports and CRC growing hand over fist." The above are actually 100% correct. When we planned to start an online store about two years ago we applied to deal with Coolheat and Omnico. They both point blank refused as we did not have a physical operating store. Thet would only consider registering us as a dealer once they inspected our site (Bicycle Store)
  22. To the guys using ZWIFT. Do you know if its possible to connect two trainers to one computer and ride at the same time. I cannot find anything like that in the info or the ZWIFT site This can be done on CVT with the "Real partner" function
  23. Just loaded my Zwift last night. Please let us know when you plan a race or training ride. Some company and that little extra push might just help me.
