  5. I agree with Chris... the Aeropex are awesome. You have perfect hearing of your surroundings even with the volumes turned up. A little on the expensive side at R2900 ish, but well worth it. They are water resistant. https://www.myistore.co.za/aftershokz-aeropex-open-ear-wireless-headphone-bone-conduction-cosmic-black?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI9vbAo5Kn6gIVwcYYCh3eZAC4EAAYASAAEgJPe_D_BwE
  6. And watch all those old movie collections .... no more SS1 Live :-(
  7. You are right... i suspect he was using a tubby ... enough said?? Also in a race, these type of things do come with the territory, and the current finish of the 94.7 also comes to mind. However, you arent talking about tour pro's who deal with fast corners on a regular basis. This is a sunday mass participation races where people tend to over extend themslves. As the saying goes "Their ambition levels way exceeded their talent levels"
  8. To have a high speed downhill 90' turn into the finish "straight" isn't the wisest choice ever regardless of which group you are racing in. Everyone in the front of their group wants to be competing in some way or another so will likely be over extended at that point. That and combined with equipment elements which may be on the extreme (eg, tyres slipping, gears jumping) is asking for accidents and the organisers need to be accountable for putting competitors in that position. I last did the race in VB a few years back, and we went into that corner at a pace, only to see a guys tyre slip off his rim and him hitting the pavement. It was ugly. That was it for me... no need to race for the massive sum of what exactly???? A photo on the podium this year maybe, and some hospital bills next year?
  9. I would love to see your stats overall. That would make for some interesting debate...
  10. R700!!! For an essentially gravel road race? I was considering it, but not anymore...
  11. Ciovita - Their shirts are fantastic. I would rank their materials as some of the best in the market www.ciovita.co.za
  12. The classifieds overall... it doesn't open any of the drop downs... basically cant see any of the adds. It shows the categories, but nothing comes up when you click on the link
  13. Preferred the old site much more... this one looks very bare on opening. Links don't open either... I hope you get it 100% up and going asap
  14. Exactly right... seems the 3 perpetrators have the same operandi in that they pick somewhere along the Spruit where its easy escape and pretty tight so you cant get away. At the PnP, they can run upto any waiting car / taxi on William N, and at Emmerentia they use the culvert to get back onto the road where an escape vehicle is waiting.
  15. Another day and another armed robbery. On the Spruit just below Pick N Pay on William Nicole this morning.... not sure about the details
  16. Where can you get Paraffin wax from? I used normal paraffin and it didn't work. Im guessing there is a difference?
  17. Jacques at Cycle Gallery is brilliant
  18. If anyone is looking for a Colnago saddle, please let me know. I took it off my new C64... Its a Prologo saddle with Ti rails... asking R1500 for it.
  19. Those paws look full of grease which usually makes them sticky and hence why they don't engage. The hub should be lightly oiled so they lift easily and fully engage. Basically I think the shop just removed the previous axle and put a new one in without checking all the working parts. Their fault for not doing that, however your fault for not checking it once it started slipping on your 30km training ride. To sort that out takes 10 minutes max.
  20. His ban was from 4 March 2015 until 3 March 2019. As for the gravel bike well it seems now days anything goes at races... just check out the multi page e-bike thread.

  24. Low ball offers is one thing however, you should be able to rate rude comments on an advert, or this should be removable from the comments on the advert without having to post an entirely new advert. Maybe admin can include this as a feature??
