  1. Just finished building up my new gravel bike. Bought the frame from Farr, the wheels and groupset on the hub and the various bits and bobs from different online stores. I'm really happy with how she turned out:
  2. Fantastic service from Wayne once again - absolute pleasure to deal with!
  3. Wow, they must be getting desperate if they are selling entries on ODO.
  4. What was the reason for the stoppages?
  5. As long as white is not included in the colour range... That should never be allowed...
  6. I have purchased from Wish multiple times - a bit of hit and miss unfortunately and normally take a while to arrive via snail mail. Some items arrive on time, and are as per the item ordered, others either don't arrive or are the wrong item (never appears to be an issue though, as you get refunded). *Edit: Stay away from clothing (I have never purchased clothing items, but everyone I know who has won't do it again) as the quality is usually really poor and the sizing is horrific.
  7. Pressfit BB's can be a nightmare... A trick I learnt from my father in-law is to first apply a thin layer of tubby glue to the BB shell and allow to dry for 24 hours. Once dry, press in the new BB. This takes up any play in the tolerances, either due to manufacture or wear from prior BB removal and installations.
  8. I just got myself a set of the 35mm version from a hubber for my gravel build. Quality looks great, but will have to see how they are once the bike has been built up.
  9. They appear to be good tyres - get lots of good reviews. My go to gravel tyre is the Panaracer Gravelking SK. Fairly expensive, but they are long lasting and are great on and off road. I have done around 4500km on them and they are both still going strong!
  10. Sent you an email enquiry with some questions pertaining the frameset, awaiting your response.
  11. Any chance of a special on the carbon frames?
  12. 6 bar is crazy! I ride my at 3 bar on the road and 2,2 bar off road.
  13. I would think it would be worth more than that, probably around R4,5k to R5k. But then again, it's only worth what someone will pay for it - not much stuff is being sold for what it is worth these days I'm afraid.
  14. Someone got a very good deal!
  15. Price was listed at R2990, but with only 2 in stock. Now that they have been purchased, the price is back to the original price.
  16. I would agree with this - you shouldn't have any problems with a bike, let a long a new one.
  17. I never said anything about earphones
  18. Lots of Ciovita kit for sale today on OneDayOnly: https://www.onedayonly.co.za/ladies-gloria-ciclismo-under-vest-1-265047.html
  19. Can someone please explain wtf I just watched?!
  20. The problem with that gearing is the first 140km of the ride before golden gate - this section is fast!
  21. I'm riding the rocket ron front and racing ralph rear, works for me and has been for years. My next set of tyres will probably be the Vittoria Barzo / Saguara combo from bike addict. They are selling at a great price and have stronger side walls than the Schwables, although, they do weigh a bit more.
  22. My biggest concern for this attempt is the hill that has been chosen. At that gradient, the downhill is going to be a bigger problem than the up. When you are exhausted, it take a lot of effort to brake and stop, let alone down a 15% gradient. I wish him all the best of luck, Everest is a very difficult day out in the saddle.
  23. Interesting - I learnt something new today. When I was there last, we came across a large group of runners training for Comrades.
  24. It's open to all! Good luck, it's hard work, especially running there as it's not flat...
  25. Done Keep up the great work! Love this bit of trail
