  1. & with RS Debonair.
  2. These should to the trick better for riding & be longer lasting.
  3. I have a pair of Adidas Brushwoods also with the Conti soles. In fact it's the very same tread & rubber as these, but never tried to ride with it. It wears superfast with everyday / general use.
  4. Nukeproof Scout 275
  5. The X King isn't a good front tyre for AM riding. Rather put in on the back & try the Vigilante on the front. You can also check out the Spaz Butcher for front & Slaughter (Grid version) at the back. Good grip on the front & not too much rolling resistance
  6. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bq1Pxl39ncY Is it this video?
  7. Fitted a WTB 2.25 Trailboss tough/fast roll last week & 'test rode' it last weekend at Karkloof. Good rolling & good grip as well. Really like the thick sidewalls. Paired with a WTB Vigilante up front & so far i like the combo. The 2.25 TB is slightly smaller than the 2.2 Wolverine it replaced which is my only gripe (so far)
  8. I love my XT trail pedals. Have 3 sets of these & I can't fault them at all. I use the Shimano Sh-56 multi release cleat & it works amazingly well
  9. Lekker forks indeed! I am using the dual position on my "retired" Shova. Never really use the low setting, but got the DP at a steal so went for it above the solo air.
  10. Hein ry jy 26" of 650B? Sorry ek sien jy ry 29er. Waar het jy die grid tyres gekry? Ek wil graag daai combo op 'n Trance 650B try
  11. I really like those FOES bikes. It's basically a single pivot. Like the 'old school' threaded BB as well. Only 'issue' is rear tyre clearance (IMO)
  12. Not on a boetie bike! That's sacrilege
  13. Looks like very slack seatpost angles. Like the Canfields
  14. Sounds amazing! Really need to go there soon!
  15. Large frame with shock (obviously), headset &142mm x 12mm rear through bolt = 2.9kg Mine weighed in at just over 14kg with a burly setup. Pike Hope hubs with Spank Subrosa rims & 2.3 tyres dropper 765mm bars & AM stem It rides much lighter than the weight suggests. These bikes really excel when the going gets rough. You can pedal it through sections shorter travel bikes wants to coast through. The Maestro suspension has amazing small bump compliance.
  16. Thx for that reminder to take the distance increases slower than I want to. Messed up my knee last time. Serious ITB.
  17. I have never been a runner, but I really enjoy hiking in the Drakensberg (although I haven't been hiking much this past year). In 2010 we met up with some hikers also sleeping in in the same cave (Twins cave / Cathedral area) & we chatted about the Mnweni marathon. This isn't the first time I've heard of the marathon though. I have a friend who's an avid trail runner & he'd done it numerous times. A mate & I have decided to take it on since we were told by the other hikers sleeping in Twins that we'd manage since we're strong hikers. We strarted training for it 3 weeks before the race (easter weekend to few days before the race which was 15th of May 2010) To say the least it was very tough, but we managed to keep a steady pace( for us anyways) We finished around 8.5 hours. I have said I'll do it again someday & I feel 2015 is the year. How many km's should I start with & how gradual should I push longer distances? Any advice is very welcome! Thx. J
  18. Owned a couple Giants & loved them all. My 1st dual suspension was a Trance X1 (bought 2nd) Reign 1 2013 (bought 2nd) & in action. My latest Giant: a Trance 650B. Unfortunately still dressed in 26er wheels. Just waiting for the Pike to arrive.... & dropper of course!
  19. You sure Sakkie? Less than DH for sure, but more than the aforementioned bikes.
  20. Go to the Spruit & meet some of the friendly locals & see them rip! Pretty sure there'll be someone that'll lend you a bike for a spin. Definitely AM (or enduro as it's called now) bike is the most versatile. As Sakkie said 140mm to 180mm would be the best middleground with 180mm being a bit on the rough side & my guess is that not many guys are riding with that much suspension. 160mm is a lot already & loads of fun!!!
  21. Always great service! Their tyres are usually at unbeatable prices.
  22. Not a debate at all...
  23. Lekker! Glad you like the ride!
  24. Very nice man! What is the clearance in the rear triangle like with the HD? On a side note... Don't you need a dropper for that beauty? I have a brand new KS Supernatural with remote (385mm x 125mm) for a very good price! Send me PM if you interested.
  25. If only I'd known. Those look like some pretty decent packs
