They announced this last week - Said that the international market post Brexit was costing them money. The aim is to consolidate and focus on the UK market.

Had a friend over for Dinner recently who works for a fairly large importer and wholesaler in the UK. Said that CRC/wiggle are sending truckloads of old stock back to suppliers to try and offset debt. Literally stock that they received 5-10 years ago in some cases, with no warning and no prior agreement.

While others may disagree, I have enjoyed my Diesel Duster.

Goes at 19km to the litre, has reasonably good support through Motus and haven't been at all let down by it on the road.

It managed to get 4 people, 4 bikes and a fully loaded roof/inside out of Lesotho in a snow storm.

It is huge inside and will often come with a factory fitted tow bar.

You should be able to get a really nice on within your budget.

My wife keeps telling me to look at one of these.

send some pics here, you might have some takers, between me, my old man, BIL and his friend we might take some stuff.

Also condolences to you and your family, good luck with the whole process, realised my post was crude earlier. Always forget how emotionally tough it is sorting someone's loved possessions.

Thank you - appreciate that. I’ll put some pics up but don't want to spam the forum 😂.  I don’t mind crude posts either. Lots of emotion but emotion won’t shift the kakhouse full of stuff

You could try the cestpool that is FB Marketplace, good luck though.
The advice above is probably best but also SA is struggling, less disposable income, these niche/specific products take time to shift.

And condolences for the passing of your dad. Strength to your mom too.

Appreciate that - thanks. I’d rather give the stuff away than have a normal  FB marketplace experience.

My old man bought someone's entire workshop a few months back, similar thing. Seller advertised- must take entire contents, cash up front, garage must be empty that day. So you can maybe do similar on a woodworking FB group. Value is a tough one though, chisels and saws and planers and stuff can have huge value, especially the well kept older stuff.

Another option would be to have an auctioneer come and sort the tools out for you and auction them off. It will just leave you with all the wood offcuts and some smaller stuff to deal with.

Good call - thanks - hadn’t thought of a woodwork specific FB group, but will look at that now.  There is some really good stuff there so it would be a pity to not get a fair price, but I am also tight for time as I don’t want to leave the old lady trying to sort stuff out once I’m away.

Maybe try get hold of the local Woodworker's Club or Guild; Google should find it. I know they have done something like this before but I don't have any contact details sorry.

Thank you. The old man was chair of the local guild so they have been buying stuff for a few months now, although there also seems to be some stuff that wasn’t there before, so I suspect there’s been some swapping going on as well 😂. Appreciate the help. I’ll reach out to them now and see if there’s any more interest.

  9. So, looking for some advice please. My ballie passed away suddenly last Thursday in PMB, so I’m out for two weeks to try and sort out stuff for my mom.

The old man was a fanatical woodworker and had heaps of equipment. He was  supposed to have been selling stuff over the past few months as the folks were supposed to be moving into a retirement complex, but it appears that he sold very little and the garage is still packed with kit and wood. I’m here for another 10 days and am keen to get my mom moved to the new place and to realise some cash for her from the woodworking stuff. The problem is that I have no idea how to sell it as I don’t want randomers turning up at the house because of a Facebook ad and I also have no idea of values of the stuff.

So, the question is, does anyone have a suggestion as to a simplistic way to dispose of it all in the Pietermaritzburg area?

Possibly a stupid question as I've never played with epoxy, but why the differentiation by fill depth, do they have different shrinkage vs cure time properties?

I think it’s to do with the amount of heat produced during the process by the chemical reaction.  As I understand it, the deeper fills will cure more slowly and thus the heat is less of an issue in a very insulated (by the rest of the resin) place whereas closer to the surface, it is easier for the heat to dissipate thus the cure can be faster.

just to be clear, this is my understanding from the university of YouTube, so I may well have misunderstood

I'm not gonna do it myself, seems like a good way to lose money.

But how is this dishonesty? You buy a device under a "contract" and then sell it. Same as selling any other item you have purchased.

Vitality works on a system of paying off the watch over two years by doing your exercise and meeting their criteria. So, it actually only technically belongs to you once you’ve “paid” it off.

update - I’ve just read the vitality South Africa T&C and see that they do have a criteria where you can give your watch away. Not sure that selling it falls into the same category, but perhaps dishonest was too strong a word. Apologies if I caused offence.

Waiting for the delivery guy 😁

Did some research, there still is some uncertainty about a few things :

    - getting an eSim from Vodacom, I know I'll have to pay a monthly extra for it already but will I need to change my plan to have access to it.. let's see

    - syncing everything from the watch to itervals.icu with HealthFit, not an issue

    - running youtube music in my airpods : not an issue

    - listening to youtube in the background : that might be an issue, and it would suck because that means I must take my phone with if I want to listen to stuff that's not on podcast format (which I do all the time)

    - tracking rides : I have a few options there, navigr8 seems like a good one according to one of the videos posted earlier, might try Athlytic as well to run actual workouts, or do some research. I want an app to run and record workouts (does the lap, shows the target power / 3s power / hr / time remaining) and ideally connects to intervals.icu plan. That I haven't found yet but will try everything I find and hopefully find something, otherwise I might try to make one myself.

    Nice one

If you go by every YouTube Celebrity making river tables then Total Boat is apparently the only epoxy/resin to use, hahaha

Can't get Total Boat in NZ, but as the boat building industry here is pretty big, West Systems stuff is available. Not cheap though.

As for which types of epoxy, I have no clue. I believe the slower it cures the better the finish and less chance of bubbles, but that's based on youtube knowledge.

There are distinctions by depth of fill, so I bought a 35-85 mm epoxy and a 5-35 mm epoxy mix. Because my slab is 110mm, I did three pours in the holes that went right through it, two of the deeper fill and one of the shallower fill. There was a trick to blocking the holes at the bottom. I tried two methods, one where I just used tape and the other which involved boards with tape and silicone sealant screwed into the base. The latter was successful and the tape made a mess and all the epoxy drained out.

So Ihave a small project and I am wanting to use clear epoxy to coat the wood. However I have no idea which one to use. Any recommendations please?

I found YouTube to be my friend when it came to the resin process. In terms of what product, I found a local fibreglass shop that had a range of resins and the guys in the shop were very happy to advise me on what to use
