  1. Today was a really fun race. The seeding group caused lots and lots of hold ups on the single track, but it was really fun- that huge drop was unexpected and awesome! My one foot took a nice plunge in the water Anyone else missing their results on cycleevents' page?
  2. I actually discussed with a colleague earlier this week about kyalami being open to cyclists before and was pleasantly surprised seeing this thread. Now it looks like there is an event (possibly a bikehub thread on it) that I missed. Wonder wat happened, because sounds like its something they won't forgive.
  3. puts me in the tjop-en-dop span group c
  4. Ah, exactly why I asked because it rang the bell of sixth sense! My large specialized comes across as borderline too small as well, but with the setback seatpost its forced into working adequately.
  5. Im curious which brand that is?
  6. wha?? I've done several 60's before and even I only entered the 30km after a stump of the flu. Not here to tell you what to do, but look after your heart hey. You could finish the 50 perhaps but at what cost? Either way, good luck!
  7. 186 on larges, because could never find XL's when I was looking!
  8. Using the Strava Segment explorer I found this quickly: https://www.strava.com/segments/3966378 There were several segments though, so you could probably find something more specific when you have a look.
  9. Sorry for jumping in on your post Cheese, the excitement got the best of me! How does one get there? Or rather, which entrance? I've driven past the gate on corner of Milner Road and Bram Fischer often, but is this even a usable entrance?
  10. wait what?? There are cycling trails (road or mtb?) around the corner at St Stithians?? Is it open to public members as long as you produce your ID? No fees?
  11. Yes, R50! I entered the 55km, got the flu, asked to change to 30km
  12. I've entered, ready and amped to walk the 55km
  13. Thread about doping and this is all I'm taking away from it
  14. Hi Is there any other Jhb or Gauteng based shop stocking Anatomic? It's been my favouritist cycling shirt and would love to get some pants!
  15. do people realise this thread is from 2011?
  16. Since I dont have any idea what I'm doing, is it good if only 3 picked riders have fallen out? Is the plan to keep all your riders active till after the final stage win and have as many stage winners in your active team? Is it actually not uncommon and the points per stage only matter?
  17. If it is on Thaba Trails itself, it should be- I've done most of the routes on a rigid hardtail.
  18. I remember seeing this event before. I'm hoping to be there myself! Just a direct link to the events page with location etc.: https://www.bikehub.co.za/events/event/3169-restonic-twenty-four-hour/
  19. I get the same rubbish from a group of cyclists going from Blairegowrie to Linden, stopping in the pedestrian crossing lanes and yelling at cars, blissfully ignorant of their own unlawful actions. Surely the cancer in cycling aren't necessarily me and you and everyone else on this forum, but those not active in the community, those who don't care about discussing and improving the current state. As a side note, I admire your vigilance. Of all the times people drove into my car (4 times) and total accidents ever (2 at least), all of them was caused by sober drivers driving negligently. Your experience may very well vary, but I've not had troubles with drunk drivers and I drive outside of peak hours. While I'm on my bike, I don't feel threatened by drunk drivers, but the drivers who believe themselves the alma mater, above the law and self righteous.
  20. I'm just here to see how badly I can do at the fantasy tour
  21. Support cars sound safer but surely they just add to the negative perception of "cyclists are selfish". Necro of the week goes to S-Bike. Would've been better starting a new thread
  22. I'm also wondering what the T&C's are, as it says cart doesnt meet the requirements after clicking that link. Also surprised how expensive their lights have become. Glad I bought my headlamp before their prices tripled.
  23. 7 years later and your post taught me something. Thank you
  24. dorénavant, le chat est rouge... Hope your bike is fine and able to have you riding again soon! on topic though- in an office of 7 people, 5 (6th one maybe soon) have been sick in the last month, 2 of them twice so different bugs... heck, its crazy. The people seem to be getting the flu bugs from their kids (not surprising) but then spread it in the office through poor hygiene. Has there been any hub members who picked up the flu since beginning of May?
  25. The 2nd example has the same link... As for the topic at hand, whats happenening in the 2nd hand cycling department appears to be mostly virtually identical to what happened to the 2nd hand motorvehicle market. New cars were too expensive, so more people sought 2nd hand cars. As the trades of 2nd hand cars increased, so did their price, until lately where a 2nd hand car is often advertised and solf between 50-80% of retail value.
