Been a while since sharing where I've been..
So, my last two rides..
(At FUN Gaalen obviously )
Last week:-
#NewBikeDay
Then yesterday:- got stormed on for an hour, after 20 mins into the ride.
ALso got to give to revised baboon trail a bash (HIGHLY recommended)... loads of fun!!
(this, just prior to the storm)
Ah flip guys... So basically you actually can't go past hollybrooke farm anymore if I'm understanding correctly... You can go past, but no idea of the current state of the trail once through the next section of reed tunnels.
The unpassable section is shortly after the NEXT river crossing.
So the ride will be as follows... South East on mini oom, join the district road, swing east north east at the vulture restaurant, then swing a north turn (left) to go up past Benburn and kasaan? pretty much
Probably still a cool ride though...?
EVERY ride at FUN Gaalen is a cool ride
Tell me is mini oom piets on this map still open and Is it bi-directional? So you can use it back to the river trail by hollybrooke farm?
Sent from my F5321 using Tapatalk
Mini oom piets is still open, but as you cross the district road, that section is closed. On that map, it's the green section below "Benburn". So to get back to the river, you need to go around on the district road and jump in at the bridge just past Greek Church.
Ja Byron..
As typhoon said, that FLIPPEN AWESOME section is all disrupted now, thanks to the landowner barring access.
Claimed reason, riders trespassing and riding where they shouldn't.
Which confuses me as it's pretty much a stretch less than 1km along a fence that you can't veer off of.
Anyway...
IF , you'd like to sample it (not sure how much of it is still rideable) where you's "jump in at the bridge" you can head west instead of back east to VG, there's a water crossing (no bridge) and you'll eventually just have to double back as you can't complete it.
It's such a pity, the River used to be 10kms long out, but it's about 6km, last almost 4kms is "lost" because of this tiny last section being closed off
Belated post of my Christmas ride at FUN Gaalen..
Took an old friend(that I met through the hub), his mates and a VERY old friend ( that I haven't seen in over 20 years) on a VG show around.
Needless to say it was face stretching smiles all round!!
Jan still opposed to the use of gears
It was Christmas after all
Love this pic
done
Thanks for suggestion
Could it be this one?

I see i did it when i was doing the concrete strips area mapping (below)
Haha, umm i did this a while ago (Jan 2016) with most the trails around the concrete strips...
There are new trails around that area, so i'll probably need to do this again.
Looks like or close to the Revenge descent?
but but, you ride there so much, you should know where everything is... ... I should .. but like my dad says, if you hang around people where you're the one that knows everything, you'll never learn... I always learn on here
Which part are you looking for a file for, from Chicken Pie or the enduro? The Enduro
You can also get there from the Chicken Pie, including Eric's secret Enduro track,
Have you got a file for this?
awesome!! what a little bit of magic that is... Thanks Byron
Hi
I did this one recently. It includes"
Cement climb
Pofadder
tant miems
dagga pad
greek church
section of baboon trail
and river back
You must still be smiling form that ride
And a 36km option (which has less climbing, but no less swoopy single track)
You can also get there from the Chicken Pie, including Eric's secret Enduro track, some Boer war lead mines and a fossil hole.. but thats for you to discover yourself
I'm battling to open these links, any suggestions?
at FUN Gaalen this weekend the annual 24H took/is taking place
Weather forecast was completely turned on it's head and instead of a shower during the day yesterday, it bucketed last night causing mayhem with the trails for the night ride and this morning...
however, a great time was had by all and I understand is still being had by some now.
I could only a time for 1 photo taking lap (awesome route btw) yesterday.
I went a bit bos with photo taking, might share more of my plethora (or as one would say in Afrikaan, n k*khuis vol) later
No more "E" assistance ... back on my regular Fattie
Not enough face for the smile these trails give me!!!
Summer!! this was 5:30am
The extension of the Gully trail involves a bit of climbing but the reward.. is face flapping ST for a good couple of kms (can't remember how long it is now)
The river crossing at the end of Tant Miems, always welcoming on a hot day after the ride down
I'm an AV-phile and can say *lots* about this, but unfortunately I don't have time (sorry).
Single point of advice: Refresh rate trumps resolution every single time.
I've been through some of the specs, I'm missing this.
What should I be looking for?
A refresh rate of not less than.......?
Go and have a look at Tafelberg, they sell Hisense and they will match any price.
I bought from the one in Alberton and got great service from them.

I bought my parents the below 49" 7350 Samsung TV for R9.999
https://www.takealot.com/samsung-49-uhd-curved-led-tv/PLID41685088
Note that shops will try and clear old stock - I would no longer consider the Samsung 6 series.
Thanks.
not keen on a curve though
Was literally just looking at this too
Thanks
Hisense also offer a 4 year service guarantee as opposed to Samsung's 2 year. from Makro
3 years from Takealot

I've always been a fan of the MTB "Loop"
but these improvements are just WOW!
WOW! WOW! WOW!
and the "loop" will become an actual loop
So much work and effort gone and going into the trails.
To the existing trails and the new ones to come.
Super excited and privileged to have these on my doorstep
Had to fight off the love, hugs, kisses and smiles from the triathletes as usual.
