  1. Morning Orsum, And in years to come you will not only remember your first but also feel just as lekka and exhilarated after each ride. Have a great day Sarge
  2. Hi all, I have also had the squeel from day one. Changed pads etc etc - no lasting luck. When I go out into the bush it sounds like a soundtrack from the movie Deliverance, all I need are the words "squeel like a pig" echoing around the veld. I just put up with it. Sarge.
  3. Hey Bronco, I am sure that you will not be alone. I am afraid that I need my gears. Good luck Sarge
  4. Bad news guys, and thank goodness nobody was too seriously hurt. What, with all the other dangers to look out for - here is another - booby traps or worse. Keep safe and have a good weekend Sarge
  5. HaHa, yes just like the car advert that says " only driven by an old granny and only on Sundays". Only in the bile advert, the bike is as old as the granny and it has been around the block a million times!!! Sarge
  6. Morning gents, I had a bad start to the day. You all have just made me feel better. I hope that all the above is true or else I am going to sue the lot of you. Have a great day Sarge.
  7. Hey Flat, You really got the boys going with that one. HaHa. Regards Sarge
  8. Hi gents, I have always used a standard crank, but when I bought my new bike it came with a compact on it. I battled to get used to it for 6 months and then swopped back to the 53/39 and for the first I enjoy my new bike. Possibly just habbit, not sure Sarge
  9. Hi, That is lovely work. If my bike looked like that it would be on my wall and not in the garage! Regards Sarge
  10. Hi, Check out "This is what I do" - Rant and Rave. Hope yours is just 1/2as nice. Regards Sarge.
  11. Hi, Everything of the best. May the sun be kind and the wind be on your back. Regards Sarge
  12. Hi, There is a time and place for all types of riding. Slow sociable rides with buddies is certainly one of them. We have a SG ( slap gat ) ride most Sundays - nice past time! Regards Sarge.

Hi, Well done Paul, Latent and Gummy. This is what I opened this thread for. Not the agro comments earlier. It is Friday - enjoy the weekend Sarge
  15. Hi Schalk, Yes the unknown. I do not want one but it would be lekka to test. Ease ups like a ski lift and then the down. Yipeee Sarge.
  16. Hi Gummy, You have a lovely bike there. I got myself a new Cannondale in January with a compact crank but just not get used to it. Replaced it with a standard crank six months later and now I am really enjoying my new bike. But to each his own - enjoy what suits you. Sarge.
  17. Hi Latent, Well done. 99% of the road users do not think / care about what is going on around them. You saved the day for the ritch b*tch, pat yourself on the back. Have a good day Sarge
  18. Hell why did I check this topic?? Nipples?? Sarge
  19. Hi gents, It is a problem and that is what is so nice about the Amashova. You can get your number sent to you. They charge R80.00 for up to 5 numbers to the same address. Not only is it convenient but it saves on accommodation if you are out of town. Regards Sarge.
  20. Hi, I understand Francois has the solution. I read somewhere that most of your control etc etc is off the front wheel. Thus if your wheel is wider it can be run softer and you will have more grip, and all the rest. Sarge
  21. Hey boet, times are hard - you have my sympathy. I can remember how bad things were just after the rinderpest--------. Bite the bullet, hire a blond, you will recover. Sarge.
  22. Hi to all of you and I hope that you are having a great Friday. When I read the origional post, the only thought that went through my mind was that we must be more carefull with our toys at/after a race. I took the thread as a warning to all of us to be more careful. It is a pity but the "skellems" are all around us - all the time and there is nothing we can do about it. A big up to Impey and let's celebrate his success. Sarge.
  23. Hey gents/ladies, How do we celebrate? Apart from the usual beer etc etc. Bunch rides in yellow, national holiday. What do you suggest? Sarge
  24. Give in to the urge and eat the stuff - don't fight a good thing!! Sarge

Hi, I was watching S Cycling the other evening and they had an insert on the team busses. They must cost a small fortune as well. How about when you guys arrange for the Chinarello's to win a stage -or 2 you can find a nice taxi from SA to ferry the "boys" around. HaHa Have a great day Sarge
