  1. Shot, I've used Opera for years and then they seemed to lose some appeal. Just downloaded the mobile app and seems way better than others from initial impression.
  2. Those were lockdown prices I referred to. [emoji2960][emoji6] Quality was ok, I just have no idea what my gf paid or the retail price is. IIRC, it’s same owners as Creation btw.
  3. I know what you’re referring to with those bulk wine exported-bottled-labelled oversees wines. This one however is at least a step above that though. The label alone is quite expensive to print if we’re judging it by the label only. It’s been a while but I’d say label alone is about R5 ea if not more.
  4. Overpriced lockdown wine for Tuesday evening here. [emoji38] Went down well with the Moroccan food, but probably not worth whatever my gf paid for it.
  5. Stinkhout or Imbuia? Both available from Rarewoods.
  6. True, I had a board in my lumber rack that I've kept there for ages, saving it for just the right project. Dark, hard, heavy AF with a nice grain. Think I used some of it for mallet handles.
  7. Meranti is a collective name for a number of species/sub species form Indo/Philippines. The wood can vary quite a bit, from light coloured and relatively soft, to dark reddish and hard. Selection is key, but that being said, I personally just don't like to looks of it. It's fine for trusses/pergolas and outdoor furniture or pieces that'll get painted.
  8. Wish they would ship my stuff I've ordered beginning July already. The item got sold, and now I've to wait for new stock.
  9. I won’t deny that, but as long as it’s decent thin rimless glasses I’m happy, it doesn’t have to be expensive crystal. Just no thick glasses that’ll leave a dent in your tile floor if you happen to drop it. Oh, and no coloured glasses either. Those Crystal direct glasses Del refers to is pretty much what I use.
  10. My dad had well over a 1000 bottles at one stage. Eventually he sold off a bunch as they were ageing faster than he could drink and storage conditions weren't exactly optimal - he had to store it in their on-suite bathroom as that was the coolest room on the place we were staying at that time. Kanonkop Paul Sauers/Cabs, Rubicons from 80s and 90s and even a few 70s vintages made up a good portion. On the topic of glass, I flat out refuse to drink out of a thick Spur type glass. If I know we're visiting someone with common glasses I drink beer, and I'll insist on better glasses at a restaurant. Nee sies man, we're not drinking Four cousins.
  11. Did you seal both sides of the plywood? You'd be surprised how much birch ply can also warp from irregular moisture content.
  12. Only got empties to show before they go into the recycling bin;
  13. You should add a sacrificial fence to the mitre saw, will prevent the piece shooting off (kickback or kick forward in this case) into the next century.
  14. No audiophile will pass on the opportunity to let others audition his system. I hope there was copious amounts of nods of approval whilst being forced to listen to Diana Krall and Stereophile test tracks.
  15. Like instagram and other social media platforms, people will like and follow you in order for you to return the favour to increase their followers/subscribers. It’s probably just social media whores working the streets.
  16. Damn, seriously hope we don't bump into each other next time I go for holiday in the Garden route with my Unno.
  17. Agreed, it's akin to people using the same old argument; "but what about the children". Let's not pretend we really give a toss.
  18. It's decent quality plastics. It won't just break on you if you don't abuse it. Depending on what you want to do, it's pretty useful. I only use it strategically to hide screws in cupboard installations. It works great with drawers to hide screws on butt joints, especially when you use under mount sliders. It's a bit more effort to clamp and screw together as panels tend move more whilst driving in screws. Suppose those special clamps will help a lot though, but I only have the standard clamp that came with the K5 jig, as well as those corner clamps which actually works surprisingly well. You can buy cheaper bits and screws from Hardware center - think the brand is Milescraft. There are also other brands out there that seems to be better quality than Kreg - check on Amazon/Axminster - although shipping is too expensive now.
  19. There's a certain purple dj bike that was listed a few times already - and coincidentally it didn't get cheaper with the new listings.
  20. For those who're not familiar with Colin Furze;
  21. You're right, it's all opinions, but then be open to new or different ones as well. This thread is not exactly 386 pages dedicated to plebs discussing whether Nescafe gold is good coffee now is it?
  22. On Sunday we gave away 5 cases of wine to family/friends. Sunday evening...my fellow South Africans happened again. D'oh!
