Hey TCS, sorry to hear you, collectively, didn't have such a good Jock. Must say you all looked good at the start, when I rode by and greeted you all standing at the Vito. I was the dude in the Standard Bank kit on the silver Scott with the Hub tattoo!? Pity no-one had the time to greet me back, I suppose you were all busy and with pre-race nerves and all. Next time I will have to stop and personally greet you all, only trouble was our group started at 06:45 so I was pushed for time.

Let me contribute my two cents worth, if I may. I am in favour of a licensing system. This is my principal reason (I have others!). Unfortunately, at the moment, I can't kick anyone's butt because of the disgraceful state of affairs SA cycling finds itself in. However, if I am a licensed rider, belonging to a club with proper affiliation to the national body, I am then able to do something. I would have been party to electing those officials and if they don't perform - out they go! At the moment, whoever is in charge is not answerable to me - since I am not part of that organisation! And just by the way, if I was officially part of the organisation (as a licensed, subscription-paying member) and I didn't like the way things were being done, why all I would have to do, is get myself elected, and we would all be doing it my way! Just kidding!! But you get the point, I hope?

I use those Slipstreamz thingies. Worth their weight in gold! The earphones slip into them and not in your ear. The result is that you still hear the ambient noises (even better than without them, since they take away the wind noise) and you hear the music clearly and, as a bonus, they take the chill factor on your ears out of the equation. Highly recommended! Bought mine for 50 bucks at the 94.7 expo.
