  1. always loved Rampage. Kids and i are already prepared to live stream
  2. I have nothing against e-bikes but this Sunday on the Amashova, i was suffering up tollgate bridge and this e-bike come merrily along - rider still looking fresh. Rider was young and looked in good shape but he was still on an e-bike. still have nothing against e-bikes but damn i was irritated.
  3. My very first Amashova and my second road event ever and i thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it. Was in the KL group which started after 8am and i did it in 4:32 which i am extremely happy with as i was expecting 5+. The hills were good but the people at the back were fantastic, had some good music and were extremely encouraging. Had a good laugh here and there with the jokes from people i never met before. The wind on the M13 was hectic and it was here that i wished i had a group to pull me but at the back we were all suffering together. The guys manning the water stops were also all very nice and encouraging - good people. I had a great race and will be back next year to get a sub 4.
  4. There are many, many routes at NF. 99% of it is not technical. There are a few fun/hectic drops but they are all well marked and have chicken runs. The one route that i do there is about 60km and thats without repeating any sections. I'm sure you can easily get the distance you are looking for.
  5. lets revive this post: So how many people have brought them in? pics or it didn't happen
  6. entered for both the 55km mtb and the road race. i have not trained for the past 3 months - i'm gonna die
  7. The thing that concerns me are those rubber type mats they put down over the mud. Slipped on one last year - bike went in one direction and i went in the other. Looking forward to the ride though. Planning on taking a "Driving Miss Daisy" type of ride. Have a fat chat with the people along the way. Starting batch F at 07h40
  8. This will be a fun ride. Did the 22 last year and entered for the 54 this year. Nose is stuffed with sinus though so this is really gonna be fun. BTW: avalanche have 650/680ml water bottles with lids to keep the crap out. I generally use these on NF to keep out the cow crap
  9. I would maybe purchase cuff links. Those are kewl
  10. You can ride the 94.7 on your MTB - no problems at all. More than enough people do so
  11. fantastic post and WELL DONE to the both of you.
  12. I'm in. Can't wait. It's my very first one. I completed the 947last year so should be fine to complete shova. Was in CT to complete the CTCT but alas the wind
  13. Dude, we need more pics! You cannot leave us hanging like this. Please man
  14. Post some pics of ZA built/used bamboo bikes with the weight
  15. Will be signing up for this as well. Should be fun i hope
  16. My first Argus - damn i'm excited. Bike arrive in CT an hour ago and i'll be there at 10 tomorrow. Can't wait to taste this small breeze you guys are talking about. Should be fun!
  17. I just read the rules for the first time; what a Laugh! How can anyone take all of it seriously? And if they do, surly they also have a carrot stuck up their ass or maybe that's a way to get more roughage into your system - i need to reread 'the Rules' and check. Yes some of the rules make sense but others are out right hysterical.
  18. Whatever you do, Do Not train during the week of the Argus. Rest yourself. Too many people give it full force the week before and on race day, they are tired and therefore buggered.
  19. I learned something today. Thank you
  20. With the gators, I ride in some extremely harsh roads and they are holding up very well so far. Got them fitted on my CAAD10. On Sunday, I got a thorn stuck on the front, I pulled over and took out the thorn and went on my merry way - no issues. Downhill i'm hitting 80km/h + and the tyres are very stable. They also corner very well.
  21. "Only train 80% of a race distance; on race day you'll be fine" no mention of elevation gain, type of course (technical, grass, flat, farm roads,...) - - damn did i suffer
  22. Any idea when the race comes to Big Red Barn
  23. They have a face book page. I think only a few stores currently stock sis - cyclelabs forways being one of them
