I have an idea for a new thread...

The deepest I have ever taken my bakkie.

Without mods I wouldn't go much deeper than this. I also won't do it without walking the obstacle first.

I stay in a cul-de-sac.

The storm water drain sits near the entrance.

We had a burst water pipe that flooded the road overnight.

When I left in the morning to drop the kids at school I was apprehensive but went through cautiously and steadily, the water went over halfway up the 20" rims on the car.

A quick google told me the wading depth of the wifes Q5 was pretty much the same as the XC60 I was in, so I called her and let her know it would be ok. I dont think she went through at a steady pace.

I think I may still have some footage on my phone.

Young and dumb, I remember living on a farm with the river coming down after some big rains in Uitenhage. We literally had 20 mins to get our stuff and across or we would be stuck for a good few days.

I ended up crossing the low water brigde, in a Nissan 1400, with water coming up and over the bonnet, washing into the cab through the open window. Bloody long 200m bridge!!!!!

Lived to tell the tale.

hahaha. Thankfully not.

But, the Q5 actually slept in the street that night and we went to sleep at my folks place because they cut the water to the street.

Sounds like your parents may have saved you a beating that night

Still unimpressed that my daughter and I won't be seeing them live anymore, later this month in Jhb. Damn pity, it would have been a good bonding session.

Friends of mine had to be rescued from the Groendal hiking area per helicopter after a flash flood.

Drumpf thread. Only 14 pages vs 43, and a similar daily post count, I'd imagine

Or you know what, lets flip it on its head.

The person who posts the post that takes those threads to the 1000th page, must give their booze away. Like the last first person who pick up their phone pays the dinner bill move.
