LOL. J, I know! Remember I see this on my clients as well.

Jeepers. Okay, not the R 50m level, but multi million rand, yes.

As for the 700k to 1.4m thing - at least that's achievable and just double the price of a 700k house. But when I look at a R 50m house... I struggle to see how they can even begin servicing a bond.

There is a house in Stellies where the owner has a moerse pool that he likes to swim in, and keep fully heated ... Running cost at 65K / month.

When you hit a certain price bracket, money becomes very easy to spend

I've got a mate who was asked to do some business assessments on a lodge up in the far north. The thing was leaking money and there were lots of things that could be fixed easily as well as some longer term plans that would enable it to wash its face with a year or two.

Thing was the owner is from the middle east and didn't really care. He liked things the way they were and said:it still costs me way less than my racehorses in london, When it gets to XXX per month, then give me a call and we'll look at it.

Farkit....

Ja, there are some people. R 65k p/m for a fully heated pool is a bit silly IMO. But then I don't play in that bracket.

Because this class of person does not work for money.

Money works for them.

Its another plane of existence that very few, or any of us, will ever experience.

Mostly old money.

Yeah, very true. I'm working up to that level. Slowly. Veeeery slowly. By the age of 50 (17 years away) I hope to be financially stable enough to no longer need an income. I'll still be working, but it'll no longer be a necessity.

Hope you don't have kids?.....

oh the irony of this add in amongst posts of R50 million houses, heck even a R700K house

The real irony is that in the majority of cases, these "Aid Agencies" don't even put 50% of what they collect into actual aid. Or that the aid itself is aiding the perpetuation of hunger through a creation of reliance and such.

Implement farming practices, supplement entrepreneurship, cut out violence and gang-related machinations. Ensure that they are lifted up, and not just fed and watered.

Givers must control what they give because takers will never control what they take...
