I have an idea for a new thread...

in my youth i did something stupid like this as well. We were doing a tour that took us on the N2 and I caught a truck the one occasion. Sat behind him slightly to the left, but still stupidly behind him, Anyway we were doing 90-100km/hr rolling along. It was amazing and I covered a substantial distance very quickly. But not the brightest idea

have done it up to 80km/h behind a SAB truck in my youth.

I dont remember what gearing i had back then, but there is no way I could peddle that quickly today.

Also I'm not as brave/stupid as I was back then, speeds start to get north of 40 and I'm starting to "knuip", in the 50s and I pull out.

I was at school with someone who killed himself doing that.

Same happened to a guy in my school. He was flat. Still had his ciggy in his hand...

I have done that speed before(+ a bit more) but not behind a vehicle and it was damn scary. My helmet was actually lifting off my head and my glasses were moving on my face. It was in a race on the tandem. I have motor-paced before for training but obviously the driver knew I was there(it was either my wife or Dad and no I never claimed any KOMs from it and we did it on quite roads on a Sunday morning) and only to about 45kph to train at slightly above race pace.  But I also was never as close as that, probably a metre or so.
