Took some time of work today to fix my leaking roof, and while I was at Builders, I bought some treats for my dogs together with the other water proofing stuff. Just had to share this photo.

Notice Sasha in the back ground......she is still living with us......

Was thinking about her the whole weekend & wondering how her "move" went.

We will find a home for her - just need to network. But my word I felt so sad when Ian J said there are 100 huskys looking for homes in jhb - and thats just with them, not all the other husky places.

What is wrong with people? How can you buy a dog knowing these beautiful creatures are locked up in cages waiting for a home?? :cursing:

There is currently 24 Husky's @ Husky Rescue Bloem -_-

The things we see everyday are unbelievable. The lady that runs Husky Rescue Bloemfontein had a woman interested in adopting a Husky. She failed the home check, her fence was not correct, and was really peed off and took it as an personal attack.

She then went on and bought a KUSA registered Husky puppy for I think R3500. But wait for it. Think it was about 8 weeks after she bought the puppy, she pitched up at Husky Rescue Bloem not wanting it anymore and was giving it up. She said the dog is getting out the whole time and is digging up her garden. :cursing:

I was honestly thinking about this exact thing this morning...

Is it wrong to start a campaign for certain breeds of dogs to only be issued to people with a license? And home checks are required etc. Huskys, Collies, Pitbulls...dogs that require major commitment.

Even though all dogs require effort, we cant deny that some need more than others.

or we need to be like Finland & not be able to buy dogs until all our shelters are empty
