Nakoota just for clarity I wasn’t referring to you - your stuff was perfect - Cippo sent me a link to a crank because the red on mine is giving him sleepless nights

Got you, I just saw cassette and thought it was the one I sent you. I was going to say, I bought from that seller before too and the "perfect" Bergamont Dolce frame I bought for my wife ended up having radial cracks all over the carbon on the fork, I got my money back but won't go there again.

It's taken a while but it is finally ready to ride as soon as I put some pedals on - without some help from other Nago pervs on this forum this could have been a lot more difficult - I know I haven't kept it period but this is how I want to ride it - weighs in at 8 kgs with pedals which is pretty slim for an old lady

Great looking bike, what is that funny blue and white thing in the background

That is what we commonly call a piece of poo. Wayne loves it at least I got him to put campy on it , it was first dressed with Shimano double poo.

Sorry to get a little side tracked and talk about a Trek, but in searching for something else I came across this bit about the OCLV US Postal Treks and Lance Armstrong and the Tour De France. That Trek deserves its place on the wall. Yes I know it isn't a Colnag0, nothing else is, but I agree with Wayne, it is a great ride. (My riding partner is also a Wayne and a Trekkie, so I know they are difficult to beat ;) )

"Trek claims Lance Armstrong's (united states postal service) 5200 was the first all-carbon frame to be raced in the tour de france from start to finish. Armstrong's first Tour de France win in 1999 came aboard Trek's 5500 model. "

This is what my Colnago C59 did to me 2 weeks ago on our first right after I changed her groupset.

  • Damage to bike - slight chip of 1cm x 0.5cm on left shifter and scuff to shifter hood. Had to get both wheels trued but no other damage.
  • Damage to me - Collar bone broken into 4 pieces with the main break diagonally down the middle forming 2 chisels. Spent Saturday and Sunday sitting in an armchair at home with my muscle being ground between two pieces of bone. Had to return to casualty on Sunday to have my titanium wedding ring cut of to return circulation to my damaged ring finger - wife now REALLY wants to advertise 2 Colnago's and a YT Jeffsy for sale on the hub. Went in for surgery on Monday and have a 16cm scar and the hospital's longest clavicle plate to date to show for my efforts.
I think the bike won, thank the little baby J....

Thank god your bike is ok! Your clavicle will grow back, but there is a finite number of C59s around! ????

Heal up dude!

Hi Evan

Do you mind telling us how the frame was treated. It looks almost like a clear coat with a bit of "titanium" colour in it. Decals painted on? Who did it?

Hi I had it chromed in a smoky chrome and had decals I bought many years ago from Cyclomondo which I put on the bike - really cheap to chrome a frame here in Jhb

I posted this build about a month ago and was interested to know the year it was built - not much of a Colnago registry out there but it has a serial number on it and I emailed Colnago in Italy - I got an auto response saying they were shut for the month, gotta love the Italians - anyway, yesterday they emailed me to tell me it's the original colour and was manufactured in 1997 - pretty cool how amazing this 31 year old bike rolls
