They are nice, but is someone drinks sugar/xylitol in the family, then the insides mark up from stirring - looks terrible on mine.

If someone ruins coffee with sugar/sweeteners then they deserve ricoffee in a one of these atrocities;

fortunately for now its just my wife and i in the house, and she's trained like me not to drink sugar in coffee, often referred to as a bidah(innovation).

when the wider family comes over, i bring out the old cups :whistling:

I trained my soon to be ex wife not to drink sugar - so now she drinks xylitol instead... and I want to see you get your wife to agree to use old cups.....

What should I ask for a jura F50 I want to sell, needs a new heating element/unit?

You should get it fixed first... but it's not impossible it will cost you more to fix than you will get on sale - my gut feel is that in good working and cosmetic condition it would sell for 4 - 7k

I have a question: What is your recipe to produce a single shot espresso?

I'm currently making doubles using 18g and it fills 60ml in about 28seconds. So that is fine and I am not adjusting anything on the grinder, only the weight of the coffee when I try to make a single.

When I use 10g for a single it fills 40+ml in 20seconds.

Should it reach 30ml in half the time of a double?

To give more background, I've tried this using a triple basket in a naked PF and a double basket in a double sprout PF, the triple basket was quicker than the double basket. I am yet to use a single basket, but was wondering about the theory behind it before I try a single basket later today.

Does the amount of "open space" between the coffee and the shower screen play a role?

lots of different recipes, it's too your taste.. but in my opinion, don't bother with singles - waste of coffee.

Also what equipment are you using as you refer to triple baskets etc.

Baskets generally run by the weight that they can handle, in today's terms a double can be seen as 21g basket or an 18g.

I do not believe anyone uses the 7g / singles any longer.

and yes, dose in the basket does play a big role.- you definitely should not be dosing 10 grams in a basket which has capacity almost double the amount of coffee.

Personally, I enjoy 21g off ground coffee in and 21g in the cup.
