Guys that have done the conversation from Stage to Stage Max, how many of money did it set you back?

I thought the only difference was the fork?  Purely observed when comparing my stage to my mates max

same rear RCT3 and same frame

But I'm the least bike technical person in the world

Agreed! It is exactly the same frame, and the same Rockshox Monarch RT3 184x44mm rear shock.

The only difference is the front fork travel. So if you are a wheeler dealer on the hub it may cost you nothing??

The shock is different and there is a offset attachment/bush.

The Stage has 95mm travel, the Max has 120mm travel.

the frame is the same.

Mine was done in 2019 and I found the invoice. Costs were:

2nd hand Pike for ~R6.5k (bikehub)

2nd hand Monarch RT3 184x44 for R3.5k (stoke, basically brand new)

Full rebuild of Pike for ~R1350 (stoke)

Major Service for DS ~R750 (stoke)

Sundries for like R100

i'm pretty sure they just used some existing line items to account for what the true work was. This included them sending the frame to Pyga and back to get a stuck bolt out (can't remember which one) but I'm not sure if that was stoke or Pyga being awesome by not charging for it (probably both). I honestly couldn't believe it was this cheap.

Evening gents.

I currently have a OneTen with some old Trek / Bontranger wheels that are giving me more hassle than they are worth.

So I would like to get a nicer wheelset thats a bit more future proof.

Can I get some advice on these sets?

In terms of if it's a bargain, and will they work for my planned 1x11 Shimano XT upgrade?

Would I need to change the hubs for the Shimano?

Or would these be a better buy, even though they're more expensive?

These are similar pretty basic wheels but the second set are boost so won’t work for you and I don’t think the hubs would either

Have a look at rapide who have decent good value wheels

Get wide rims for the type of riding your bike is intended and then get them dished +5 to suit your frame

I’ve decided to go the Stage Max route.

looking for some recommendations for a fork. R10-15k budget.

Do I go 120?

I’ve only ever ridden Rockshox so looking to try something new.

Thanks
