My apology for not clear. I'm beginner as it will be my first race. as I will see how i feel after the finish line then I will move up to 25km and go on. That why what I've mention I'm on process on professional which I'm asking for your advice about gym

Ok that explains it.Well dont put to much pressure on yourself to become pro. It must stay fun. And set realistic goals for yourself because if you set unrealistic ones you will not achieve them and that will demotivate you. Aim to do well in 40-50km races by end of next year, then 70km races by the year after and then become pro the year after. 3 years with the correct training.

As for gym exercises. Yes they work, but dont go and build monster muscles because that = weight. Weight that you will need to carry uphill. Focus on strength and stability. Plenty core (abs + lower back). For my legs I only use body weight and phisio ball.

Just enjoy yourself and your rides, fitness will come as you spend more time on the bike and suppliment it with gym/spinning.

Ultimately, you are outdoors, having fun and living a healthy lifestyle... well done on choosing to do so and have fun !!

I thought this was the Friday Fight thread ? Seems I was mistaken!

@Spiderkzn, I have a few deaf friends, learning english and grammar while being deaf is extremely difficult. Most people with your disability have the same issues so don't let the people here make fun of you : ) The problem with this place is, most people here think you are joking, that included me !

Guys, I think this guy is for real.... Keep the advice coming :whistling:

As said before and that will be the best advice is to have fun. If the fun stops then it becomes work and who likes to work...............not me. I am suppose to be working now :whistling: but cant stop thinking about my weekends ride!

I also think this guy is for real and what's more, I think he deserves an apology.

What the hell is up with hubbers flaming newbies until proven to be "real", so to speak. That's down right arrogant and makes for a super negative perception of cyclists.
