What about ...

First National Bank Stadium or simply FNB Stadium, also known as Soccer City and The Calabash, is a stadium located in Nasrec, the Soweto area of Johannesburg, South Africa...

Why don't add the gps co-ordinates cpt Obvious.

Seeding must have been tough this year, Malcom Lange seeded in group H.

Lange, Malcolm 2:30:56 339/20506 M 305/15518 H 1/546

Andrew Mclean started in D. He came past me on the hill off the M1 pushing some bloke. Apparently he was riding with a Toyota Exec/Manager?

Makes sense from a safety point of view to try arrange the route so that the downhill bits are on smooth wide tar.

Anyone else notice the bumps don Homestead Ave (Bryanston next to golf course) in the right hand or oncoming lane - I think it is the tree roots............I got quite a jolt as they were invisible in the shadows..........Very dangerous...........

:cursing:

Yep, my shoulders, neck and wrists took a nice jolt (whiplash in the sphincter from fright)

Thats where the big crash was with 3 or 4 riders. They all looked quite eina. Apparently one of the heavier metro ladies was also knocked down whilst she was trying to split the riders left and right of the carnage.

One of the marshals last year crashed going down there on their motorbike.

Worst part is that only so many people know that it is a rough section of road and that you should hold on. From all the accidents there over the years, why cant they post a warning sign before it for those that aren't aware of the road condition? It would go a long way.

It shows the group you started in, not the group you were seeded in. He probably dropped back to ride with someone.

Yeah i know he easily could slot in with the elites and certainly capable of doing better than 2:30, odd thing though if he rode with someone he is a minute clear of the 2nd place rider who's an U23 and 3 minutes ahead of the rest, usually you ride over the mat together.

As a medium quality Roadie (Did a 4:01, but had a bit of a bug so maybe 3:40 is on), I salute all you MTB guys who "hum" past me on their MTB's with off road tyres....Well done!

Hehe thanks (don't worry, the nicest chats I had enroute were with roadies)....we also just "lovetocycle"...all in the name of fun. Was amazed to see how many MTB's there actually where. In my starting group there was this lady on a mtb with knobblies, damn did she pedal, left me for dead on the N14

For years I wanted to ride the 94.7 but just didn't get to it, now I see what I missed. But hey don't worry, there are some thoughts going through my mind of maybe getting a roadbike sometime

A friend of mine rode a 2:33 from H and he tried to hang with Malcolm but was blown off pretty quick. He ended riding solo so I don't think Malcolm was in any sort of bunch.

I started in FF, riding for the Race 4 Better Hearing charity. A lady went down very hard about 150 m in front of me. She lay very still when I passed her.... It was not a pretty sight, really hope she is OK Edited by Sniffie
