Are you sure the watch and phone aren't set to auto pause. Great for commuting but will give you the wrong time in a race.

I have the same. But difference is 1 minute. i started and stopped as I went over the blue matts

My GArmin and the official time are out by 12 seconds - so the official time keeping is spot on !

Yap me too - PB for me yesterday! Few of my buddies also don't have results yet so best is to hang on a day or two and then see.

There seems to be quite a few of us with this issue. It was my PB by 3min as well as finishing with a top 10 in A.

As far as I know the clock starts as soon as the bunch is set off and not when you cross the first timing mat...

I think it is high time that The Hub invite someone from Racetec to join the community and briefly run us through exactly how timing is done and calculated. And perhaps give a race debrief after every event re result uploads and updates etc.

Dude, awesome by the way, that's an insane time!

I'm almost too scared to ask if I can join for a few training rides with you again :P .

Anyone find a 3 min difference between official time and own time keeping device? My garmin and iPhone have my time as 3 min faster, had the same thing at race to victory.

yup, I got that as well

Twas my fourth and PB'd by 37mins! Broke 3hr - 2:59:52 - Too close for comfort, but I'll take it!

Great race, best I've done. Support was epic and as always, organisation was phenomenal.

I think the results are still provisional lads and ladies. Reckon they going on start time from gun and finish with chip. Hopefully will be updated today or tomorrow

PB for me yesterday as well...would have loved to stick with the front of A but lost my car keys going over the N1 and had to turn around to go and look for them. Luckily someone picked them up and saw me looking for something....huge thanks to that spectator!

Thanks to the awesome guy on the MTB that gave me one of his water bottles just after the N14 highwway (lost mine in Hyde Park). You are a LIFE SAVER (that just got me the energy to get my sub 3).

Oh yea, and my time is out by a few min as well (so don't know how racetec does the timing as I was very close to the front at the start)

What an awesome event! My first, did it in 4:12:43, will be way better prepared for Argus. I honestly can not think of anything serious to complain about. Spectators were awesome, shouting encouragement, spraying us with cold water, the sexy dancers weren't too bad either....lol.

A Marathon runner friend of mine did it with no cycle training, and very poor bike preparation, had big mechanical issues, did it in 6 hours and loved every second. Events like these are so good for cycling.

What a great high!

I have always understood to be time from the 'gun' to crossing the timing mats at the end .....

:whistling: Nope . Mat to mat .

Nice ride, great vibe, some horrible accidents though, heard a lady crash behind me near the bottom of Homestead/Douglas, she was wearing yellow and must have been badly hurt judging by the scream and sickening crash followed by silence, Hope she is ok.

Reasonably happy with my 3:50 on my Trance dualie with NN/RR knoblies, especially considering my first training ride was the 94.7 mtb race.My bum did appreciate the soak in the pool afterwards though i can tell you!
