At the end of day three my partner and I racked our bikes on my bike trailer then went to the finish to wait for two friends before heading back to the big smoke. On returning to the trailer some low life scum-bag had stolen my 142 x 12 axel out of my Santa Cruze. We had locked the two bikes together, luckily, otherwise I guess the whole bike would be missing.

Not necessarily as it could just be a well informed thief that know's the value of the parts and then goes out set to steal the bike and if not possible then only the expensive parts. Either way we dont need this in our sport, as i use my sport to escape these everyday problems.

Karma may get him one day, but it would be great if the OP could watch the procedure; even better if the OP could get a chance to put in a shot or two with a baton..... This kind of k*k from well to do "people" is infuriating. One can almost overlook some "crimes" at times, but not this kind of BS. Slegmense as You say.

Sad case of affairs as MTB riders well since I started the sport 3 years ago have always been a good bunch of guys and gals!!
