Joh, that's going to make for a really early start from C Town, and I'm riding Moonlight Mass the night before! A few espressos will have to come to my rescue!

Better make that a few iced coffees instead.

I'm guessing as I've seen no other notifications.

Add your 30 min warm up and stretching routine to the time line.

The first 30min of the race is my warm up and stretching routine...

Better warm up for this one then with that Category 3 climb at the start.

:-)

I don't see how strava classify the slight uphill from the turn-off to Pniel to the start of the helshoogte ascend as a cat 3 climb.

its 5.2km with an avg incline of 3%, the fast guys do that segment with a avg speed of 30+km/h.

Myself (an average rider) averaging 24-25km/h on it.

The race starts about about a third of the way into this segment. Don't see people really dropping on this segment.

The actual Ascend of Helshoogte (and where I think some people will be dropped) is the 1.9km segment (Cat 4) with an avg incline of 6% and the fast guys do this in 5 minutes. I aim to do it in like 7min :)

Extreme temperatures predicted for Sunday. 37 degrees in the stellenbosch area and going up to 40 degrees in Paarl & Wellington. Keep yourselves hydrated guys.

I'm going to do my own training on saturday rather.

I am still not over this cold, and with hot conditions expected, I am rather going to skip the Medallion this year. Will do an easy ride on Saterday.

How are you feeling?

If it is just in the head a bit you will be ok.

If it is sore body still or on the chest then rather not.

I think I am going to go through. Feeling 95% now so will see how it goes.

I guess I am at 80%

Its in the head and chest. Cant get rid of the chest/congestion thing and work aircon does not help!

Plus the wind blowing stuff around is also not helping

Will aim for the Bay City race now.

Hope you have a good race!

Thanks man.

Well at least the good news is that if we have got sick now it is very unlikely that we will get sick again before the argus.

If I had this the week before then I wouldnt be happy at all.

Just make sure you getting enough rest. It is the only thing that helps.
