When attempting to purchase goods from Hubbers, it seems that to state you are taking goods via leaving a post, doesn't work!! To phone them directly is a better way. However even stating that is also not a guarantee. As if they realize they can get a higher price because of the amount of calls, they also just remove the ad. Has happened three times in succession now!!

Cash in seller's pocket is all that matters, rightly or wrongly.

First come, first served, that's the law of the HUB jungle. No "dibs", no first option", none of that bs. Just hop in your car, pay and collect. No tears.

4th time's a charm apparently :whistling:

I assumed that firstly stating I am taking the goods via posting it, would suffice. Then proceed to get the required info like bank details etc via private pm. Obviously I am wrong

You are not wrong, some are just not ethical... good luck with your future purchases

If you had posted and the seller didn't see the post and sold it in the mean time to someone who phoned, I'd say it's fair. But if it had already gone as far as bank details being given, then it's not cool. In most cases where I didn't get what I wanted to buy I've had sellers at least telling me there is someone else in line before me or that they don't want to post items.

Send the seller a PM to confirm he saw you post.

Just posting a comment that you will take it means nothing, many buyers go straight to PM/phone/email , there might already be 4 guys ahead of you , even if the ad has only been up for minutes. That SLX ad is a good example of that situation, huge bargain, people must have been scrambling to take it.

Yeah, agreed, sold a set of brakes the other day and I got multiple PM's before the first comment on the ad. It went to the guy quickest on the draw.

Its your own fault for having a user name that reminds people of the spice girls.

Should be punishable by death...
