Fixed.

Not an ounce of sympathy for him. You play with fire, you get burnt.

came from nowwhere, bam suddenly 2013 there he is yellow jersey..

if its too good to be true then it probably isn't

I feel sorry for him, but I wonder if his team doctor spike stuff in their food or drinks.... His team doctor was involved with doping in years back and he should be banned for life!

Good point about the Dr being banned.

As for being spiked…uh uh

While the idea is plausible that the Dr could give out illegal stuff to team members without their knowledge (because they trust him and do as he says).... was the Dr even in SA at the time…doubt it?

And if it was a supply of supplements that he got from the Dr or team before coming back to SA for SA champs, then logic says other riders in OGE would also be receiving similar products and testing positive.

I hate to be the nigger in the wood pile to suggest this BUT the very fact (if it’s a fact) that he was not with the team and their Dr’s while in SA might be why he got caught out….

Uhm, you know that he actually won the Tour of Turkey a while back (when Goss made him crash on final day), not out of nowhere, just not in your radar.

You need to watch more road riding. Impey was gifted the yellow jersey after OGE won the team time trial.

Take nothing away from Daryl - he's a great rider but his wearing of the yellow jersey was a team decision not individual excellent.

People, I see a lot of guys said that a Pro cyclist must know what goes into his body. But think rationally for a moment. Put yourself in his shoes. One can let the team doctor check any medicine he takes. But there is no way you can check everything you eat or drink. Is it really rational to test every meal and every drink that they take on a daily basis in a lab for the extensive list of agents on WADA and UCI's list of banned substances. I am not saying he is innocent, but let us not burn him at the stake like in the middle ages just because someone said he practice witchcraft.

This whole thing is becoming ridiculous. Soon these cyclists won't be able to eat or drink anything at all. Hell, I used medication for arthritis before every surfski race I did to counter the pain in my left shoulder, but still came DFL most of the time. Should I have been tested and banned from racing? I am sure if any of us gets tested we will be found to contain halve of the stuff on the banned substances list.

I beg to differ; he is a pro cyclist who knows the risks, so it is in his best interests to protect his career by checking everything.

You on the other hand; who cares if you're hopped up on meds? As long as you don't win the race that is.

Apparently that silly 7 day stage race down in the Cape cares. They will ban you from being amateurish straight back to plebdom

Hey bud, it's at this point we say thanks for the chat, we now bow out gracefully.

Thank you all.

Because from hereon it's gonna spiral into stupidom, finger pointing and the usual bitch slapping.
