We have just employed a former manager from SAB in Isipingo, Durban. He says that Soweto consumes more beer over a weekend than the entire Kwazulu-Natal in a month. Also, since some bloke introduced Banting, SAB is battling to keep up with stocks of Castle Lite. It flies off the shelves.

Since I started brewing my own beer all this SAB stuff tastes like something you get out of the toilet !

Some of the beer I have made tastes hiper k@k I must be honest I would rather have a Winhoek than most "craft" beers.

Look, i've had a brew or two that was terrible as well, but most of my stuff has turned out pretty good actually.

All this beer talk is making me thirsty...

True. I'm just miff with craft beers. The majority all taste the same to me and I don't like the taste. It's to yeasty for me. I have not brewed in a long time. Need to get back in the game. But yea I'm also getting thirsty.

I find a big problem now with the majority of craft brewers is bottle conditioning.

Brewers are doing it because it's a cheaper, easier process than filtering and force carbonating. But, they aren't doing it properly.

That lends to a lot of the yeasty flavours you're experiencing I think.

I think the problem is they ship the beer to soon . After bottle the beer must rest in the bottle for a month and then another two weeks in the fridge . Will start my Red Ale this weekend , got 48 Lagers resting and another 48 IPA that will be ready for tomorrows game !

This goes down well with a 1kg of ribs and bottomless chips for the table and some spicy nachos... looking out over the Indian ocean... my favourite weekend spot

We popped in there for a lazy lunch after we finished dusi2c this year.

Cool little spot that.

They can definitely do with more of a variety though.
