The problem is with their insane arrogance as a company. I've met many of the athletes, very cool people, couldn't fault them. I've also met the employees here in sa. They're not bad. But as a company, the money-making ethos and ******** behavior is insane. Bad attitude. Extreme arrogance.I wouldn't even wear a spez cap if they gave it to me for free (which they wouldn't, they charge R250 for those). Luckily Patrick morewood gave me a sweet pyga one for free.

'Cos the other brands are in it for charity... My LBS is Spez, bunch of great guys. Great equipment. Recently had a cracked frame replacement authorised by Specialized SA, carried out by my LBS in record time just before a big event. I've met some of the Spez Stellenbosch guys, they seem ok. Your opinion seems to be based more on the general anti-Spez culture that is trying hard to be cool...and less on any actual facts.

Rather work harder than hate spaz Almost no one here has complained that they can't afford them. Some people just dont like the company or what it stands for. Or they prefer other bikes.

Get out of the way of riders with right of way (dont pretend you cant see/hear them)... Cycle in a bikini or a dinosaur onesie if you want to. But be nice, be pleasant, be courteous and chill the ef out. Stop removing rocks and roots from trails because you cant ride over them... hundreds of people have and can. Lets end this nonsense. Your Spez/Santa Cruz/Niner/whatever or your experience or your years riding cannot and will never beat doing what is right. So leave your attitude at home, don a smile and a positive demeanor. Treat everyone like you expect to be treated and that way everyone is happy all the time. The fact that this thread has this many hits is sad and illustrates how profoundly silly and petty everything has become. Ride, smile, wave, help greet, rinse and repeat

How many people upgrade bikes after a year or so anyway? I do. So if it's specialised or an old Raleigh with v brakes respect that persons choice, at the end of the day it's about the SPORT NIE SPOG NIE.

Ok , not a big fan of the spez riders .. and there tight fitting kit .. but as a brand and what they do for the cycling community I have to say thumbs up... Go ride Jonkers? it is superb .. as far as I know (and I could be wrong) Spez has thrown tons of money into trail development in that area.. any bike company that does that is OK by me. So when I go to Jonkers i will gladly greet and Spez rider , regardless of them greeting me back (which they never do) ... why ? cause they bought a bike form the company gives money back to the sport...The riders of the bikes are giving me amazing trails to ride on.. Any other bike brands do that ?
