bmw1za Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 I didn't print the barcoded letter (showed my pdf on my phone), and there was no scanning done at the same counter - bloke behind the counter searched for a piece of paper, wrote my barcode number (think it's the race number) and returned with my number almost immediately.Same here... it was a breeze Substitution for my buddy took forever though. Anyways, all done and ready for Sunday . All the best everyone !

Bonus Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 This is sad to hear - the first expos I went to a few years ago seemed really good. I spoke to a bike shop owner two years ago and he said then that other LBS owners he knew were going to stop going because it cost a lot and then they had to just about give your stock away. On balance they were better off not going and not giving stuff away. It seems that less attendance by LBS, fewer bargains and no goodie bag to talk of are all a sign of the times.

By my 4th lap around the expo it got too much and I couldn't manage a 5th! #obsessedcyclistproblems Edit: Oh, a real bit of feedback. R20 for parking? Surely my entry could cover that? BUT I don't mind paying to park, however just give a heads up to bring some of that ancient paper cash stuff to pay the dudes. They didn't seem impressed when I handed them my card. They just handed it back and told me to go through

Where should i be dropped off at the start ? will probably be catching an uber there. Not that i would do this but, is it possible to start in a slower group like A if you an Elite ?

Thanks for this post - This is the first year that chips are compulsory, some people may think they done the race before and there are no checks for chips - But this year there are a series of gates where chips will be checked. RaceTec will have a station at the back of the start in case someone forgets their chip.

I then want to do a second loop with some friends and help them through. If I wear the chip, my first lap results are going to be lost and over-written. How do you solve this problem if you have to wear a chip? Not doing a double for any charity or anything and I am seeded in A batch. just want to help a few friends on the second loop. Any suggestions....
