Did you go 32 oval Bullet . Probably going to do the same

Yes Rob 32 oval, I need to ride a bit more than the tar road from this morning to see the benefit. If it helps with tech climbing and gives me a bit more top end over the 30 I'm happy.

what is the best option??

FRM vs Absolute Black vs Wolftooth

I've got an FRM. A lot more expensive than the others, but it's also more oval. Guess it will all depend on how oval you want to go. But would also recommend Kalbo, due to the price. Had an AB as well, also great

Nice. Interested to hear your comments on this. Been wanting to get one myself.

I have been riding an Absolute Black 34 Oval on my rigid 29er single speed for about a month now with no issues. Great traction when climbing, smooth pedal action on the flats. I carry about a 4-5km/h better top end on the flats.

Standing and climbing is so effortless. The pedal stroke feels so natural. No issues with chain tension.

I have just changed from a 32t to a 34t absolute black. The puke coming out of my riding partners mouth on a ride is proof that it was a good decision.

Lol..hope the puke was in the opposite direction of you.

How did you find going from 32 to 34? Was the 32 round?

I Also purchased a absolute black oval 32t about 5 months ago.

On the flats the feeling of almost having a bigger gear is there and then on the climbs it feels lighter.

I have alternated between both oval and conventional  rings but some days i would prefer my conventional ring as it feels like its some what leaner on the legs for longer rides.

almost if your spinning a bit more and saving energy... I can say that a oval ring does make your legs a hell of a lost stronger.....!!!!

Its most probably total bull but that my 2cents hahahah (running 1x11 on hardtail flash)

Has anyone used the Watt bike after riding the oval chain ring for a while?

I used the Watt bike for the first time a month ago at Virgin Active. My power peanut on the screen looks terrible, like I have putting no power on the vertical crank positions. I was wondering if this is because of the oval chain rings. I do feel the ovals make you mash on the pedal more, however, I still like them.

So, my chainrings are due for replacement soon and have been wondering if I should get a Rotor set. Currently using 50/36 and would prefer to keep the same ratio. The price of the Rotor and Look rings are about the same. My only dilemma is: what if I don't like them or don't come right with them? Anyone gone that route and did not like them? Could be an expensive mistake

Amazing price, rode the Kalbo last week, only noticed a small difference, could have saved a little with the Rapide option.

Once concern, on the Kalbo 32T I had to add the spacers to allow the chain to clear the "spider" on a XT Crank, I would expect that with a 30T this would be even more of an issue.

Edit: Ok, scrap that...

32t model has built in offset to clear the crank arms and is threaded so you can use your existing chainring bolts

No. 32t was also oval. 34t just huts the spot for me.

I've just gone from regular round 32t wolf tooth ring on my 1 x 10 to a 32t absolute black oval. Only fitted it last night so haven't hit the trails with it yet but took it for a spin in the the street and it felt hella weird. Then rode it again today and felt normal already. Can't wait to see how it feels on the climbs this weekend. Definitely feels like I have more top end speed on flats.
