Suunto 9 of various models are on a decent sale (less 2 or 3k) at Drifters, for the Gauteng'ers.

Edit: in fact, Cape Town too

Just the 25 for me - it was like getting an unexpected bonus to actually get something to run and it was not really a focus.

After initial treatment yesterday, it is hurting a lot more today, but suspect that's just in reaction. Swelling is a biiit better. Will make a call after tomorrow's treatment, but not overly optimistic.

Hope it works out. The fall timing just kind of sums up 2020 though doesn't it....

I didn't know if they were going to have the event, I mean there are usually 2 or 3 thousand people running? I see they have a different route this year, and limited numbers. Good on them for still putting on something.

Wanted to say the same about 2020  ... So glad this year is almost over... Hopefully it can only get better...

Ja, very different event this year. But should be fun!

At this stage I still can't bend my leg, walking around like a pirate. So smart money is on Nov 2020 having been soooo 2020-ish... it seems I've moved past the denial phase.

Busy suffering with shingles. I haven't done any running or riding in 3 weeks. It's driving me mental.

KKKKKKUUUKKKKK

The joys of running....I'm supposed to be running DNT in two weeks time....just about haven't run at all in the last two weeks because of a knee injury (inflamed fat pad).

Did 4km on the treadmill last night as a test (no downhills which aggravate the injury)...hoping that I can at least run a couple times before the race (and that my knee survives 6 hours of trail running!!!)

Bad luck fellas.

It does happen. A few years ago I was primed and race ready for the UTCT 100 and broke my baby toe on the coffee table on the Wednesday.

My plan was to take some pain killers and suck it up but by the time I got to UCT I was delirious with pain. Felt like I wanted to rip my own skin off.

I learned then that sometimes it's best to walk away before you sour the experience for ages afterwards.

I didn't run for a good while afterwards!

This could be me (doing something silly). But after missing CT marathon in 2019 from a knee injury, and then both Two Oceans and MUT earlier this year with COVID I might do something silly come 5 December.

Still thinking, there's the smart choice, and then there's the choice I'd prefer.

hahahah Maybe it's an experience we all need to experience!

It’s been a while since I’ve done some meaningful runs. Went out last week and felt horrible. More bike time and less tekkie time.

Decided to whip out my previous C210K plan, and started at week 4 of 14 - I can run for 30 mins continuously, but haven’t done so for a few months, so didn’t see the point of starting at the 8 week period (C25K). I also didn’t we the point of starting at Week 1 which has more walking than running.

I set the run interval goal to 6:15 - 6:30/Km, but ended up running 5:50 - 6:10, and it wasn’t as bad as I thought I would be.

There is hope!
