Had to laugh, saw on FB there were 3 trail runners who ran the winelands 42.2, carried their own water and at halfway had a beer and still ran sub 4 hours to raise a bit more awareness against the use of water sachets at races...

The OMTOM 21km is going to be a complete disaster if they havent mastered this online story.  I see the Ultra has till 30th November to pay so as long as entry is in, it is all good.

What a dog show... finally got my entry in now. Only 5hours later... still can't get the payment through, but will sort that out tomorrow.

That 21km entry is going to be a complete disaster

They should honestly not advertise the entries opening, or do it at midnight or something because they clearly don't have too much interest in upping the capacity of the system

Much as I agree with the sentiment... Just saw a tweet that more than 6000 entries were already received (despite all the frustration, errors and waiting) by 2 this afternoon!  That's half the allotted entries! For the ULTRA! That's insane... who would have predicted that?

No need to have a rush for the half - they have a lottery system.

Sorry, may sound like I'm playing devil's advocate, but... 6000 ultra entries before 2 on the opening day? If this continues we're also heading for a lottery system.

I don't understand why it is so cumbersome... you have to click 10 times just to complete your entry and they already have all my details.

It is basically confirming your info and paying??

But no there are all sorts of required questions all over the page that you can easily miss and popups...

Clearly, they need to spend more of their profit on a proper IT company and web development team.

I truly hope and pray number pickup is not going to be the same as this year.

Now with THAT I agree... They ask you to enter things they display to you on your profile screen! That's just stupid.

After Big C sold out in 3 days i said to a mate yesterday that all 2Oceans will be sold out in one day else by noon the second day latest. so yes they could have planned for it. Didn't they sell out in a week last year when Big C took 3 weeks? there is a pattern that even the blind could see and this should have been avoidable.

Music concerts of 80 000 sell out in less time... they don't really have a leg to stand on.

Especially after the registration debacle last year... they should have been ready.

And if they can't get it right, stagger the entries in some way to help alleviate the stress on the system.

People don't have hours to waste doing something that should take a minute

What [emoji15] glad I got my entry in then. If we start moving towards a lottery system for all these ultras it’s going to put a stop to my plans of getting my green/blue numbers before my 50th.

Thats a really good point. Gone are consecutive records, and (to lesser a degree) plans for permanent no's.
