Stretch Posted March 4, 2020 Share Kinda new to running, and have a question. How much km do you do on your shoes before replacing them? Mine are almost on 1000km and still very comfortable. Strava suggested that I get a new pair 400km back...I run mine into the ground. I used to start weening away from a pair of shoes at 800km.. But now I'm still using a pair for shorter runs (slow 6km ) that have almost 1600km on them. My two primary shoes are on 900km and 500km. I'm about to buy a new pair for the upcoming marathon. Wayne Potgieter Posted March 5, 2020 Share Especially when they discontinue your eon old favourite and you need to find a new favourite.... ????#panicI am going through this at the moment.  I absolutely love a particular pair of Nikes that are now discontinued. I called Nike head office and the lady introduced me to a different site that people sell new sneakers on.  Its a cool system. The seller has a pair of shoes, they list them. The buyer can either buy outright or bid. Once a match takes place, the shoes are sent to a verifier that confirms the shoes are in the correct condition (new) and that they are genuine and not fake and then they are sent to you. The buyer is only paid once the shoes are delivered and verified. https://stockx.com/ A large portion of the site is dedicated to collectible sneakers, but there are heaps of running shoes as well. On a side note, the Nike self lacing shoes from Back to the Future are on there and the last pair sold for more than ZAR500,000. This is not the most expensive shoe on the site.  I basically have bought two pairs of my discontinued shoe for about 2/3rds of the original price when they were available. Now I have a spare. SwissVan Posted March 5, 2020 Share Sorry Mattie... that sucks. I do hope it's nothing major I'm not far behind you on the bench as well though if it makes you feel any better  Got a scan on the 10th (my birthday of all days, but it was the first opening when I booked two weeks ago for the lady who is apparently the best in the business) Seems I might have a tear in my achilles... an old touch rugby injury that's never been allowed to heal properly. May well have been the root cause of all my issues around my calf/soleus/achilles these years I have been running I'm actually excited in a weird way, even if it means a moon boot for a couple months - just so desperate to have some proper answers   Good luck, I hope it works out wellThose Achilles injuries can take time to sort out Andrew Steer
