Discovery Health - Vitality & Team Vitality plus everything else you need to know

I have kept a close eye on my points for the last month and a half.

Almost every week there was some kind of problem, with the exception of last week.

So this week is no different.

Again points are missing. And another query logged with discovery.

To move up from silver to gold status I currently short 380 points.

This makes me wonder how many points did I miss out on during the year.

I do not really want to do the recon as it will be a hell of an exercise.

well knowing there is a problem with their system, you should have not left it till the last minute, now it means another additional year to get to Diamond...

Have you done all your health checks, online assessments etc ?

I have given up.

I used to be on diamond.

About 2 years ago I did the assessment of blood pressure, sugar and cholesterol. Discovery even paid the bill. Somewhere along the line someone bliksemed my results out of their car window.

I had more than 20 different query numbers, spend hours on the phone with them After 6 months of getting nowhere slowly. I gave up.

For what it's worth- in the future, you can try go to one of their walk in centre's/offices. Assuming that you don't live too far from it...

My wife often goes there to sort out issues and they usually get resolved then and there. The walk in staff seem to be quite competent.

You have to do the health assessment every 12 months, so results from 2 years ago will no longer apply.

Do you claim points for all your outdoor events entered and completed? (like the 94.7) https://www.discovery.co.za/portal/individual/vitality-outdoor-fitness-selfcapture

You get points over an above what is recorded via your garmin/hrm, up to 3000 per event.

Attached the 2016 points allocation for all assessments and if you just follow how to get to gold and record all workouts and log outdoor events entered and do all the assessments both online and at a health practitioner you will easily get to gold.

As of this morning, with just doing the online assessments I am already over 25% of my points to retaining Diamond.  By latest end of February I have usually reached the points to maintain my status from doing the health and fitness tests and recording all my outdoor sporting events,

Did an easy 50k ride this morning.

Discovery reckons it's vigorous exercise and sommer gave me 3000 points.

I'd like to see the points for a proper training ride

That'll be the max, unless you take part in a timed event of I think 100km or so or 50km mtb

Remember all this was discussed in the last few pages, multiple times.

It's also 3000 points for an outdoor event. Max possible

Apparently the wife went for a Pap smear today, and got the points.

29500 already in the bag. 60500 to go. This really is a walk in the park.

Yes, of course. You're right. The outdoor events points were reduced to max 3000 to tally with the device workout max

Hi all,

Happy new year!

Somewhat off topic but I went for a ride this morning and used Strava.

Is anyone else having issues with Strava syncing? Mine just says syncing one activity and I'm connected to wifi... This is all it does. I don't wanna close the app in case it loses this workout and then I loose out on my 300 Vitality Points.

11500 points in the bag already, race to gold is on !

Whats absolutely frustrating to me is unstable interchange with the active rewards points. I have 4, yes FOUR workouts from this past week that does not show. I should be well over my goal but now sitting 200 points short and I have no intention on doing anything today.

If they cannot sort this out, then trying to getting the watch for free is going to prove to be challenging as we may fall short because of their system issues. I'm not going to burn myself out week after week for this if it doesnt work.

The 3000 points was for a 120min vigorous workout (excluding the GPS), which is cool as it doesn't mean changing the training program to meet Disco's targets.

Edit: not bad for a recovery ride
